Yes you could sue the person who was driving your car for the damage to your car if it was her negligence that caused your car to be damaged.

Also see if her insurance will pay these damages. It may not, but it may.

But according to the driver (from their post on the situation), the owner of the car contributed to the accident by saying that there were no oncoming cars. Apparently there was also a separate person in the car who would be a witness to what happened, but its not clear who's story they would agree with on any possible contributory negligence on the part of the car owner.

That might mitigate some, but the driver is 100% responsible for safe operating of the vehicle.

Can I sue?

I allowed my nieces friend to drive my car. Her friend ended up crashing my car into another vehicle and is completely at fault. She even received a ticket from a police offer for the accident. I only have liability coverage on my car. Can I sue her for my deductible as well as my car associated damages?
