Tbf goal didn't come from conceding midfield. It came from the wings and once again our inability to close down on the player putting a cross in.

Arsenal were only active on the flanks in the first 20 minutes of the first and the last 10 of the second. The entire majority of the game, they were struggling to get the balls out wide, not to mention that this wasn't even the flank Sanchez was on.

We had completely neutralized Ramsey and Ozil in midfield, who typically are the players who spread the balls out wide for Arsenal and add width to their play. By pushing them back and taking away their midfield, we were cutting them at the knees and forcing inexperienced players like Elneni to handle the bulk of the distribution (which he was struggling with).

By sitting back, you allow the space for players like Ozil and Ramsey to once again have width and space for distribution. Ox going down the flanks and crossing it, is something that should have never been allowed given how completely we were dictating the game up to that point. By deciding to sit back, you now are putting someone liek Rashford in a position to run back and defend, rather than what he's done for 90% of the game.

Seriously, just stop, that was a match I was expecting us to lose just because I believe we haven't clicked yet and not convincing enough....the boys went out there and proved me wrong, they went for it....mourinho got things spot on. When we stayed back, we were hoping to hit em on the counter. The goal came from blind and Rashford not closing ox down and stopping the cross, Mourinho had nothing to do with that.

Blind and Rashford would have never been in that position if we weren't sitting back. Arsenal were barely in our 3rd in the second half, forget about going down the wings and crossing it in.

Your expectations of the game beforehand have nothing to do with game-time decisions that allowed them to equalize.
