I consider this subreddit the only battleground I can access to address intolerance and hate. I know and love people irl who are cheering me on and appreciate my standing up to this communities indifference and denial. The writing is on the wall. Its scary. I may question my ability to respond irl, but here I can be as courageous as possible. I will not stop until it seems clear that we here at r/kc are unified in our opposition to hate. Ok, mostly unified... some people in this subreddit may literally have white hoods in thier closet, and im done talking to them. I can only hope to convince good people that this threat is very real. ( I shamefully have more experience with them than im going to explain, suffice to say that kids can be pretty dumb when they need friends. Ugh, i cant believe i admitted that much. Ok ok, so i joined an Ag frat that turned out to be involved in klan recruitment. At first I tried to speak up, got my ass kicked, so i dropped out and came home. But i always wonder how many came to the city for work. Firefighters, lawyers, real estate agents, cops,... all hiding a seriously fucking hateful agenda). I just pray i didnt doxx myself. Im what they call an anti-white-white, which is considered worse than being born non-white because im a race traitor. My wife works for a well known social works program that could basically be considered the anit-kkk. This shit is scary for me.

I think a huge problem now is the media keeping everyone riled up with their telling all the problems but never coming back to finish the story, at least not in a timely manner. They like to keep us at each other's throats so the politicians can tax and rob us blind.

I don't find tons of hateful opinions but I do see people coming out of the dark and speaking up for themselves. Sort of like me saying to you that you need some proof before supposing as your first guess that the KKK burned the church, Sahara's window was broke because of anti-Muslim thought and that the Xyklon license guy just had to know that it meant death-camp gassing, not German for cyclone. My kids didn't learn about Xyklon-B in school but I did only because most of my teachers had fought in WWII.

I dont feel the need to provide evidence for denouncing hate groups. Im not casting blame because, obviously, I dont know what happened. Until facts roll in, while this is in a public forum, i will not give a pass to any potential hate. You act like Im picking on someone. It'll never make the news when some black guys or tatted up bikers change a little old white ladies flat tire instead of murdering her and setting the car on fire. It doesn't make the new when white neighbors find a black or brown kid wandering lost and find clothes and toys to comfort the child while frantically trying to find where the parents are. And if they fail and have to call the cops, it rarely gets mentioned if they're kind and comforting and showering the kid with teddy bears and ice cream.

And although it's fine to say you support Muslim businesses, what about white, black, African, Thai, Mexican, South American, German, British, etc. businesses? Support all good local businesses regardless of ethnicity - most small businesses struggle.
