So clearly you are not in production--is that difficult to say? How long have you known that you were waiting on suppliers and your factories? Seriously? Enough already. Do you really plan on manufacturing this product or is this just a scam?
What is the new DELIVERY date? March, June????

    2. Planet Traveler Creator about 3 hours ago

@All Backers - We have been waiting for confirmation from our suppliers and factories on information regarding production. We will have an update posted today.

Everyone, I just took David James' advice and reported this project. It is really easy, just go to the campaign section and scroll all the way down to the bottom and then click on "report this project", it then gives you 4 options to choose and I chose the last one about failure to communicate. I don't think anyone can make a case that that is not the case.

I have been fearing for far too long about doing something that would cause the creator to lose his focus but clearly he has no focus, consistently doesn't even honor his own commitments about communication and updates and feels no sense of obligation to treat his backers like true investors that have invested nearly $1,000,000 in this project. You can say all you want about this being a big project with lots of risks but there is zero reason why he can't just communicate with us what is going on.

Forget the fact he is over a year late and nearly two years in development. Ignore the original campaign summary when he said the prototype was finished and ready to go. Ignore the fact that he himself had over 30 years of experience in this industry. Ignore the fact he said his team had even more experience. Ignore the countless misrepresentations--or possibly outright lies he is telling--multiple times in nearly every update. Ignore the fact that he had to know there was zero chance of ever hitting his original timeline before the original campaign closed. Just look at the fact he flat out does not communicate what is going on. It is not right. If we were a true board of directors we would have fired him long ago and tried to salvage something. For all we know all of the investment has been spent on lousy materials and consulting or possibly outright squandered. Somebody or someone needs to hold the creator accountable--is that so unreasonable? Hopefully Kickstarter will do something--I have little faith though.

      Everyone please report him.

    4. David James III about 5 hours ago

Attn: All Backers, please report this project to Kickstarter. Everyone can do that individually and only once. Maybe with enough reports, that will help. I also think the class action suit is possible. Total BS. I really want to believe they are going to come through but with all of the failures, I think I've lost total faith.

Hello? Hello? does this think work? When I ask a question you are suppose to answer......
When you say you will post new info you are suppose to post......
When you sell a product you are suppose to deliver.......

      HELLO? HELLO?

Hi Guys, Can I just get my money back? As we wait other companies have beat you to some of the features that made your bag a hot commodity two years ago. Would it be possible to get my money back? I invested over $600 on 2 of your luggage. Please let me know if you can return my money. Please reply.

    7. Paul Holmes 1 day ago

Delta has a new luggage tracking app and tagging system to find your luggage and make sure that your luggage flows through the system properly. It looks quite neat. If other Airlines complete something similar, it will change how luggage is tracked. Still the Space Case still has some cool functions including warning when your luggage has been opened, but the world is not standing still. Not just Luggage Companies are innovating, but the Airlines. Here is the youtube video on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch…

SpaceCase... Really trying to give you the benefit of the doubt.... here's a tip... you need to OVERCOMMUNICATE with your customers during this time. Not hearing any official update in over 2 months is unacceptable. You should commit to weekly updates from this point forward, until the cases are delivered.

    9. GreatBigStuff 2 days ago

You know how when you are feeling down, you go do something that lifts your spirits. Well, the opposite of the is when I've had a really upbeat day and am feeling so elated that I can hardly contain myself, I come here to see that there still is no update so I can get a dose of depression to level myself out.

    10. Ryan Gladu 2 days ago

I had to get a hold of these guys through facebook. This was the response! "Hello Ryan, We are still working on luggage features. We doing all for start production before 2017."

This is a joke...this company is a joke. To claim this is the first case of it's kind is absurd. You want to say this is the best of the bunch, however, there is no case, therefore this is the best talk without delivery. What do you think backers feel when you, as a company, do not give regular updates and there are products that are very similar that have been brought to market already. Please don't fool yourself and think that there isn't another product like this because there are several. I understand missing a production timeline because of manufacturing, but this is ridiculous now. Missing the mark by more than a year for a product that already has the funding? Needless to say, I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone nor will the nearly 2,000 other backers. The reputation of this company is beyond repair and like many others who have been too late to market with a good idea you're likely going to fail. Excellent idea, awful execution. I hope to get this suitcase before...well lets go with 2020.

Let's open up the market on the "option" to purchase another's Space Case. Let's start the bidding at $20...

I will never use,Kickstarter again as after setting it up it is not concerned with the security of its backers.
I may use equity crowdfunding. As its name suggests, it promises a financial slice of the pie when it comes to startup and small-business investment. When significantly larger dollar amounts are at stake, investor protection plays a much larger role, This Kickstarter project razed $920,122 plus interest earned and has not delivered even one case. If we had used use equity crowdfunding. there is every chance of criminal and or civil proceedings Kickstarter is a rort. After The oculus rift debacle you would have throught Kickstarter would learn

    14. Paul Knebel 4 days ago

Meanwhile, BlueSmart beat you to it. A long time ago. Two years later, I have a different job and don't travel nearly as much, I have little need for this now.

Your product is no longer anything new, so don't kid yourself.

Quite frankly I want a refund but I doubt you can/will respect our wishes.

I love the concept of Kickstarter and funding "the little guy" but you dissuaded 2000+ backers from trusting something like this again. I hope you're proud of yourselves.

@Fehr, they can't give a hard shipping date because they haven't started production and don't even know if they are able to manufacture them. This is a big experiment and they are just learning. I would anticipate they will have "manufacturing" issues or some of their vendors either won't "deliver" materials or they won't work. I anticipate their next update will detail how great everything is going and then at the end they will explain the next delay which will push delivery until 2017.

    19. Tammy Gross 6 days ago

There is nothing disrespectful about demanding money back for something you promised & never delivered on. It IS disrespectful to ignore comments, & much more disrespectful to delete them.

Your updates are meaningless. It's time to deliver money back. Now.

This "product" likely to NEVER SHIP to anyone. This has been 2 YEARS and nothing but excuses. This company would rather "improve forever" and never have to ship an actual product. ANOTHER KICKSTARTER FRAUD scheme !!!!!!!!!!!!

    23. Planet Traveler Creator on November 11

@David Martin Lawton - This will be no issue, our Smart Battery is easily removed. in the event that you need to check in you Space Case1, both the carry-on and check-in can run on 3 AAA batteries as an alternate power source to keep the features working

Having just come back from the USA, some airlines are saying no batteries can be in hold luggage, (on advise from the government). Is this going to be a problem.

    25. Planet Traveler Creator on November 10

@David Solomon- We can reassure you we have images of the components mass produced. We are putting together the full details of the update to give you accurate information

No pictures because production hasn't started and probably won't for some time. Be prepared for a delay update that is of course "not their fault". I expect we will hear shortly that they won't be here by the holidays. Be ready.

      Good times.

    27. Planet Traveler Creator on November 10

@David James III - We will include the pictures in our next update with details of the progress of going into production.

My understanding the price of the Space Case for customs purpose should be a gift as Kickstarter says it is! But it is fully legal to just give the cost of the raw materials used (not including the cost of putting together etc) (UK)

    31. Planet Traveler Creator on November 9

@Ryan - A case like this with so many technological features has never been manufactured before. There we do not have any time frame to gage when delivery will be. We are working hard to start delivery before Christmas.

    32. Ryan Gladu on November 9

Any chance receiving this by Christmas?

    33. Planet Traveler Creator on November 8

Regarding the duty cost that I see is a concern to a number of backers, I have a thought/suggestion/question. I hope that someone can tell me if I am correct. It is regularly pointed out that backing a project is not the same as purchasing a product. The product that is sent is a "reward" for the successful completion of a project. If that is the case, the "rewarded" product is actually a "gift". Since that is the case, it would seem that the Creators could actually send the items to the backers identified as a "gift" on the documentation that customs references. This should mean lower or no duty imposed. Would this be correct?
