whether or not a map relates to the music is also very subjective. for example, i've played both monstrata's and pishifat's shelter and i personally felt that monstrata's reflected the music better. monstrata's map had bigger jumps and higher sv, sure, but spacing was relatively equal -- whereas pishifat's jumps were hugely spaced in comparison to the rest of his map, resulting in massive overemphasis of certain beats.

to a certain extent, difficulty is relative, not absolute. as a 4 digit player, monstrata's 6 star map wasnt a breeze but it wasnt at all difficult either -- a comfortable difficulty for me, though not for others -- and it maintained that level of difficulty throughout its sections. pishifat's 4 star map wasnt so easy that i'd be bored playing it, and the patterns were interesting, but the disparity in spacing between its large jumps and smaller jumps was so wide that the large jumps were more uncomfortable to play than any of monstrata's jumps.

and shelter isn't exactly a mild song, either. it has a lot of tension. it's slow, sure, but just because it has low bpm doesn't mean it should be an easy map. there's nothing wrong with making a 6 star map out of it
