So these rural economically anxious people voted for the republican laissez fair policies of government non-intrusion for decades. As a result, manufacturing companies left for the cheapest labor (as any capitalistic entity would), banks over-leveraged and went bust, large corporates registered offshore and paid almost no tax. There's been no promised trickle-down. Now, the same people want the government to interfere and force businesses to make anti-capitalist decisions, come back to the states and give them all jerbs again. In essence, they want democratic policies, just not from the democrats. Is this a new form of half-assed "right wing socialism"?
