Yes. I love martial arts. Learning them is a spiritual journey (this is coming from an atheist). Also, very few fee fees. The ones who are into it are usually cool. They gravitate towards the alphas/instructors/leaders of course, but whatev.

fee fees are swiftly knocked down lol Even the little kids get shamed if they try to pull a tantrum.

Agree - I get lots of exercise and male banter & cameraderie in my traditional Jiu Jitsu classes (imho the best of all martial arts)

I specifically listed other arts so we wouldn't have to have this discussion :) There is no one best martial art.

Go for it. A lot of places will offer a few free classes to "hook you".

Which martial art types would you recommend?

Any really. I prefer striking (kicking/punching) arts like TKD because I have personal space issues. Some of the arts like BJJ are called "rolling" and are more similar to college wrestling where you try to pin your foe. Some arts are a combination. Muay Tai seems to be very popular. TKD is popular because it is an olympic sport now. We spar with gear on so chances of getting hurt is lower.

Take note of what schools/clubs are in your area, and try some out, investigate them, etc.
