"Campaign Device"

[–]THETEH 30ポイント31ポイント  (9子コメント)

I've never been as nervous about a president as I am about trump partly because of this kind of thing. The white nationalist-focused campaign was ethically horrible, and now we've got all this "give him a chance," "it was just talk," "he wouldn't get away with it" etc etc. He's gotten away with everything so far. We need to be ready to resist.

I'm ready to resist. We just have nothing to resist yet. If you want to interpret that as "giving him a chance", whatever.

I still don't think it's quite that bad yet, but for all the far-left folks who bitch about Israel, this is a time where I'm very glad it exists. Because when Germans were sitting on their hands while their neighbors were deported to die, there was nowhere to run for the Jews. Now we have sanctuary.

[–]midgetman433 2ポイント3ポイント  (3子コメント)

Now we have sanctuary.

a sanctuary build by throwing the people already living there for 100s of years off that land.

[–]JWAxeMan 2ポイント3ポイント  (1子コメント)

Sounds like you have a really great understanding of Israel.

[–]stolenpuppy 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

It's an inarguably complicated history, often subject to pointing fingers at who was there first, etc. Painful for both parties, incomparable grief over the ages with respect to both Israelis and Palestinians alike. This dilemma and Donald Trump's campaign both share the common thread of divisiveness which, if still exist between us, there is no right remedy for.

Jews have been there for thousands of years, they were there first really.

[–]THETEH 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Yeah I'm more worried about how bad it coudl potentially get depending on what he tries to do and how much the congress and Supreme Court go along with it:

sanctuary

By killing the natives and stealing the land?

Look I hate the Holocaust too, but fuck me, Israel is a fucking affront to human rights and dignity.

Jews have a right to a homeland, but not at the expense of the native Palestinians.

It seems like you've probably never been to Tel Aviv.

[–]dogpotato32 45ポイント46ポイント  (1子コメント)

In fairness, no one at the Times would have read his autobiography in 1922. What is more alarming, is that the Allied powers largely ignored the holocaust as it was actually happening--two decades AFTER this article was written. People of that generation even failed to predict the atrocities of Stalin and Mao after the war had ended.

and we regularly chose not to take jewish/other immigrants who were running from the Nazis. We forced them to go back right into the death-machine's jaws. For pretty much the same reason we don't want refugees from Syria.

I don't believe trump would intent do commit genocide but I believe that there will be some very bad things that will happen, because, logically there is no other way it could go down, if he does what he says.

there are about 11 million illegal immigrants in the USA. Some of the countries would probably take them back pretty easily, unless they were/are a criminal. The 70k Canadians would go back.

the 400,000 from india and korea may be able to go back semi-easily.

the rest are generally from mexico, central and south America. about 7 million are from mexico. ok, so, let's say that trump's America rounds up all 7 million. where is he going to put them while processing them. I doubt very much that as soon as ICE grabs one, they are going to drive to the border and just kick them over and hope they don't come back.

so, basically there are going to be large prisons... large enough to be cities... probably something like a camp.

Well, now, how many of those individuals do you think mexico will take back? let's say that they take 90% of them, that means that there would still be 700,000 putzing around in our little camps. I am sure people will start to be annoyed that we will have to pay for the camps, for their food, you know, instead of those people paying for themselves.

so, do we fling them in the ocean? do we kill them? do we put them in a drop ship and fly to mexico and drop them off in the middle of no where? do we keep them and make them start to work for their upkeep?

that is just for the Mexicans and mexico. What about places like El Salvador. do we plan to take half a million people and fly them through the air space of a country who hates us... mexico will not be good friends of ours at this point... to drop off people?

how much will that cost, how many trips? let's just guess that it will cost 300$ per person just for the shipping(this is half the price to get airfare there now). 150,000,000 million dollars.. and that doesn't take into account how much it costs to process and keep the individuals until they are sent back? let's guess normal prison levels of cost, about 40-50k/person/year.... how long would it take to airdrop half a million people?

if I estimate heathrow levels of passengers Passenger volume by terminal (millions) 2015: •Terminal 2 – 16.7 million passengers on 116,861 flights

.5 million is about 1/30 of the amount of passengers, so it would take about 35,000 flights for just the El Salvadorians.

anyway, my point is, trump's best case scenario is looking an awfully like concentration camps, and will probably cost over a couple of trillion dollars.

I see so many people on this website saying stuff like "Wait before you judge, Trump isn't even in office yet, give a chance". Well fuck that. The way he campaigned was unacceptable. Let's imagine Trump is not as dangerous as he could be, well great. But what happens when someone really dangerous and with a functionning brain runs a similar campaign ? What happens if that someone wins ? This is why we have to oppose Trump and anyone who support him no matter what.

Centrist Liberals always dig their own grave as they ideologically incapable of correctly judging the seriousness of the Hard Right

I dunno centrist liberals in Switzerland, England and America all seemed to get on the right idea in time

Talked to someone today who unironically said that Trump wasn't as bad as everyone thought, and he would revitalize the US economy and drive down unemployment by building lots of roads.

Something something autobahn.

[–]MAGwastheSHIT 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

Don't forget the plans to rebuild the military. Gotta beef up that Kriegsmarine US Navy to challenge England Gyyy-nah (nevermind that our naval superiority is already untouchable).

If you want to get really depressed really fast you gotta follow @sarahkendzior on twitter. She really has a very very depressive read on current events at the moment.

@sarahkendzior

She seems certifiable. Not sure if she is literally crazy or just trying to promote her book.
