You can't roleplay. It's not an RPG. The main character has voice acting, almost like they're trying to catch up with the times. What a bunch of fucking homos. And let's not forget about the shitty gameplay. Seriously, who's idea was it to make my RPG into a FPS game? Really? New Vegas did it right. At least there was a chance I was going to miss someone when shooting them, because of my points in my cool categories, but now I always hit them when I aim directly at them. The fuck is up with that shit?
I just can't immerse myself with a character that has a backstory. I can't do it. The problem is he has TOO MUCH of a backstory. In F3 there was enough dialogue to make me feel like I could play as someone else, and New Vegas just has a little bit about the character, making you care for him... But Fallout 4 says too much. I'm a soldier? What if I don't want to be a soldier? What if I just want to be a civilian? I mean, I know.. I know. Roleplaying involves your imagination, but what if I want the game to hold my hand for a little bit? I'm tired of having to play the fucking game. I don't see why it can't do it for me? I wasted $60 on a game I could only get 346 hours on.
tl;dr: Bethesda's a bunch of shills and Fallout 4 is awful.
