I have never had good answers to this question when I asked it. Most people answer something like "this question has been asked a lot: try r/somewhereelse.

I fucking hate traveling alone. I did it for ten years and the fact I haven't killed myself is really amazing. Or stupid perhaps.

This is travel for pleasure, not business (which I hate)

they have tours of the LHC. Probably the most interesting thing I can come up with. The terrible loneliness of traveling there from the US has so far prohibited me from going but. That is my best idea.

Looks like everyone did, that place is empty.

Around 2 years ago me and my best friend traveled around the country on motorcycles. Towards the end of it he wanted to continue exploring and I had to get back home for work. We split ways and it took me another week of riding to get back home. That week was amazing. Riding all day. Choosing what path I wanted. Spending time with myself. No one else to answer to or check with. I recommend anyone do a similar road trip. Pick a place you always wanted to go and just go there. Take odd routes to get there. Explore little towns off the beaten path.

Go into the deep recesses of your mind via drugs or meditation.

It's definitely a solo trip, sometimes a one way ticket too depending on how good you are at exploring..

In seriousness though, best solo trip has been a 3 night/4 day camping trip at one of those camping places down the coast (you know, caravan parks but with spaces for tents to rent out but also little 'cabins' or houses to rent too). Paid for a cabin and relaxed all day and night near the river, eating good food, reading, smoking, sleeping, without a care in the world.
