We should not give Nazis a voice, an opinion, a platform. We should stomp them if they try to push their ideas. We should not give them free speech or respect.

Nazis can be identified in several ways. For starters, anyone who calls themselves the "alt right" is a Nazi, and should be denied basic platforms. Good job, Reddit.

Love this quote. People think debate is the best way to squash bad ideas, in some ways that is true, but fascism is completely fuelled on ignorance and illogical ideas. A facist wont concede defeat.

It's crazy to me how people said the same things about leftists fighting fascists then as they do now; calling them a mob, or saying intolerance of intolerance also makes you intolerant. Nobody ever recognizes the threat of fascism until it's too late.

The utter stupidity of liberals is thinking they can play fair and respectful with people whose ideology is unfair and disrespectful.

You can't reason with fascists. The only thing you can do is work on education and the economy to prevent them from existing in the first place.

Fascists aren't created due to a lack of education. The claim that Trump's supporters were a bunch of backwards, poorly educated hicks is not supported by data. Trump overwhelmingly carried upper middle class, educated whites, which isn't surprising to anyone who actually has looked at the history of fascism. Fascism has always drawn its support from a frustrated, angry petite-bourgeoisie that is seeking to assert itself.

Rather than emerging from a lack of education, fascism inevitably emerges from the contradictions within liberal capitalism itself in the same way that socialism does. However, while socialism seeks to smash the capitalist system and replace it with something more humane and non-hierarchical, fascism seeks to force capitalism to work for the volk, and uses the violence of the state to enforce class collaboration and social stratification. The only way to prevent fascism is to eliminate the capitalist system that inevitably gives rise to it.

Strange, I've read article claiming the complete opposite regarding the level of education of the Trump supporters. The article is in French though but it states clearly:

The Trump voter is rather white, male, with few diplomas, living in a rural area, and older than 45 years old.

However, I would give more credit to your argument than mine since the angry petit-bourgeoisie being the root of fascism is a theory that I read in my books.

I hate Nazis as much as everyone else here but ITT is some really fucked up comments. Stripping freedom of speech (not referring to removing platforms; that's fair game) and killing people for their beliefs is also fascist.
