When Memphis plays he seems to lack intelligence and energy often trying to beat an opponent with a difficult piece of skill

To understand the decline of memphis you need to understand that up until we bought Martial late last year, Memphis was supposed to be the main man for us and our star signing. You have to kind of keep that in the background. Memphis was starting games as well as a first team player. As soon as Martial came, memphis was dropped from the first team. We rarely saw him for much of the first half of the season. Try to recall the arrogance he had when he mentioned whether RVP is still a big player if he's playing for Fener. The fall in expectations of the player and subsequently fans, caused him to regress. He went from being a star to being nobody. To me that's just bad management. When you now add the fact that he's young (just 21), then you can understand that he needed a father figure.

Mourinho and Van Gaal are not father figures per say. So I don't know. I feel Mourinho can give him guidance but he probably might be better off under someone who can nurture his talent.

Just to give you an idea how fickle fans expectations can be on skillful players, consider Mane. Last year and up till Liverpool bought him, he was inconsistent, not a goal scorer, disappears in games, not good defensively and a waste of money. Southampton fans were so happy they got so much money for him, and liverpool fans were doubtful. Now, after a few games under good management, Mane is so confident now, he's playing out of his skin and is more important for liverpool than say a coutinho, even though the latter too is in great form.

Memphis has more out and out skill than Mane, is only 21. He can do outrageous things. Score goals, shoot with either foot, take freekicks. All this stuff we're not seeing because he gets scraps (10 minutes here, 17 minutes there) when a game is winding down, and he has to use those little minutes to fight his way back into the first team.

Memphis is a confidence player. I remember how bad Di Maria was for us when he lost his confidence. We need to give him and Mhki confidence because they thrive on confidence moreso.

Schneiderlin has only played for 17 minutes in the league this season. Outside the league he featured for maybe 45 mins against Fener. He badly needs not just game time but better management. He's a great talent that is just wasting away.

On Mhki, I trust Mourinho but I'll blame him if we lose more games that we could have won with Mhki on the pitch.
