I am selling my 1941 Dodge Weapons Carrier (1/2 ton pick-up). I have owned this truck for 30+ years. Bought this truck from a guy who was a contract nurse who had been working in California. He purchased it on the West Coast and had it crated and rail freighted to Dallas. He had a friend drive him from downtown Fort Worth to Dallas. He tore the crate off and drove it home. My point is that the truck has been in a dry climate for all of its Civilian Life...no rust. It was restored 3 years ago by the Gainesville based Military Vehicle Preservation Assoc. It was painted on a rotisserie fixture so that every inch of the truck was covered by the correct shade of OD green for the world war II period. As far as I have been able to determine 1941 was the first year for the Dodge Power Wagon. The original numbers and markings were applied in the correct locations and colors for a WWII Air Force vehicle. The original motor purrs like a kitten and it will go down the road at a top speed of about 45 mph. The wood in the bed is all good and I have a 10 ton pto winch that I will throw in. I drove this truck into a dry creek bed full of powder sand...The old power wagon was almost vertical when it was in the bottom of the creek bed. She didn't even spin the tires when it pulled out of there. I am attaching pictures of the plaques from the three car show that it has been in.
