my degenerative disease, ehlers-danlos syndrome, is a pre-existing condition. that insurance companies can use as an excuse to DENY COVERAGE

let me explain what a high-risk pool is, for anyone privileged to not have heard of the term:

states offer plans for patients who have been LOCKED OUT of the individual insurance market because of a pre-existing condition

typically, in a high-risk pool plan, your premium is up to twice as much as what you would pay for individual coverage if you were healthy

so not only are the sickest DENIED coverage, when they manage to get coverage back, the prices are hideously gauged

Purchasing insurance across state lines is good. Allowing the pre-existing conditions rule to lapse is NOT. @MortuaryReport @galaxiou
