I just moved here from Reddit. It's such a toxic community. It was bad before, but now it's amplified x10.

  Me too, I don't think it is going to stop being a toxic garbage fire for a while. Such a shame, there really is interesting content there but it all gets infected.

After the election, I think there's really no reason to stay on reddit, especially considering there's little chance that /r/the_donald is going to be deleted. It's either turned too toxic, or I've only just started noticing how toxic it can be recently.

How could I have been so blind?

  I get where you're coming from. But part of me, the stubborn part, thinks a presence is still required there. Reddit is pretty mainstream. It's kind of on the pulse of the internet as a whole, and a loooot of content comes from there. For better or worse, I'd argue reddit has a pretty profound affect on the collective unconscious of our culture. Without your dissenting voice, that influence will just continue to sour.
  
  I think everyone should come here, but also maintain a presence on reddit if you can stand it. I feel like if we leave completely, then that will only sharpen the decline and make these kinds of attitudes more socially acceptable than they already are. This is not to say we should reward shit behavior with traffic, but I believe that until larger segments start getting fed up and jumping ship en masse, we gotta stick it out for posterity.
  
  There's no disputing it's full blown potato at the moment, but once the dust settles individual subreddits will go back to being tolerable at least. Maybe.

    This is pretty much exactly how I feel. It's awful to explain to people why voting for racists is racist and then being told that you are supposed to have empathy with people who voted for economic reasons while they clearly did not think for 1 second about all the groups they hurt with that. And then there is the death of TwoX ...
    
    But if we all just stay where it's cosy things might get worse because nobody reminds people that they should be having empathy for everyone to begin with.

I'd forgotten I'd signed up here tbh. This is nice. Slightly confusing, but then I spent like a week on reddit thinking the up and down arrows were to go up and down the page and wondering why they weren't working so I think I'm just bad at internets.

All I do on reddit these days is hang around SRD complaining anyway.

I wish I could entirely switch, but it doesn't have the content output and the leftist communities that reddit has, so I still have to use it. Also, the app for imzy is really bad in comparison to Sync for Reddit.
