We've been telling them they are fucking special for their entire lives. I was born into a well off white family. I wasn't told I was better than, was special for being the born the way I was. I wasn't sheltered from the realities of life, I was encouraged to spend time with them and feel grateful for the things I was blessed with.

I was taught that I had more power to help those who were not as lucky as me, not that I don't have to do anything because of life circumstance. I was shown that working for not just your community but others within your reach is the right thing to do.

That's what's wrong with them. We as a society forgot to teach that we as people are better when we help each other. This attitude of, I don't care what they do as long as it doesn't hurt me is misguided because when parts of your community hurt, it hurts all the people of the community in some way.

Not voting for either major candidate is their way of saying 'I didn't get what I want, so I don't care what happens to the country'. When, instead, they should have said I will pick one candidate for their policies and their ability to accomplish the best for the country.

Our best interests are voting for the bettering of society, not just voting because you're trying to better yourself in some way. That's my opinion at least.
