The rarest of the rare classic Volvo's... testing the waters to sell a 1959 Volvo 445 Duett. Just out of the paint shop with classic red with white as shown on the classic originals seen in Sweden. Almost all were sold as wagons with side and rear windows- the panel vans are quite scarce. I'd bet there are less than 10 in the states... I've never seen another one in person. In addition to cutting out several areas of rust and repairing with metal I also had the entire chassis wire brushed and coated with POR-15. Not a spec of rust anywhere on the car.

These trucks were sold by Volvo with a few different after market companies in Sweden adding the cargo section built onto the chassis and used as deliver vans- the wagons as Volvo's first station wagons. They were built on the 544 chassis and are identical to the 544 from the passenger area forward. This one has the original B-16 engine converted to 12-volt. It runs and drives with fairly new tires and a fresh battery. 4-speed manual transmission. Actual mileage unknown... the car originally came from Washington State. The original radio is there but does not work. The lights, ebrake and fuel gauge work most everything else doesn't but it's pretty basic. Nice black and white vinyl interior and black carpet. Nice original roof rack!

My guess is that this might be the coolest looking truck ever for a business to use as advertising- it gets stares from everyone. It would also make a great rat rod conversion but I'd personally consider it a sin if it wasn't kept original and would prefer it go to someone who will keep it that way.
