The outcome of this election has me actually teetering on becoming depressed. As a freshman in college all I can see at the end of 4 years is possible the worst job market in recent history, a tanking economy, and a fascist government. I'm seriously considering learning German and studying abroad (Germany has always appealed to me). Can someone please tell me anything to look forward to in the next 4 years because all I can see is hell on earth.

You can look forward to simply, possibly - being wrong. I know you're in that certain age where it's easy to swallow accessible, biased information, however holding prejudice on a matter that's above and beyond any of your personal research, and letting it affect your personal health is something that you should get over as soon as you can.

I'm trying not to but for the longest time I was excited for what the future had in store, how actual progress would be made but now I feel like we leaped back into the Jim Crow era and they took everything I was looking forward to away.

Think of all the Neo-nazis and KKK members that lived through Obama's election, and managed to hold on to their ideologies until the day Trump came along. If people with such an ignorant, backwards mentality can last, you can too. The demographics of this country are shifting, Trump is the last fuck you by the baby boomers. As they die off, things will get better.
