Because "fuck politicians! i need a change!" and then vote for the guy who has no fucking clue what he's doing

We had the option to choose an educated politician with a history that backed up his message. Bernie Sanders, whether you agree with all his policies or not, would have been the right candidate to face trump. There wouldn't have been any distraction with emails and saber rattling. Trump couldn't have used the TPP and NAFTA as ways to win Ohio. Bernie was the right candidate, but the Democratic party decided to back the horse they groomed and bred to be a perfectly two faced candidate. The democratic shit in their bed and now they'll have to lay in it. Edit: Or continue denying reality and downvote me. Hillary's hubris and the media's obvious bias emboldened the Trump voters and disenfranchised her liberal base. Her past support of the TPP and her admission of holding private opinions made her appear completely fake to the swing voters.

Voted Bernie in the primaries.

Yeah same, but our votes were made useless by DWS and the entire Democrat establishment. It was rigged from the start. The fact that Bernie won every single debate shows that. Hillary was given questions before the debates and still looked bad next to bernie. She chose to alienate her base by labeling his supporters as Bernie Bros and sexists.

He acts genuine. Hillary acts shady and doesn't have charisma. We lost because the country was so tired of the 'normal politician' they decided to choose the genuine buffoon over the robotic elitist. We should have chosen Bernie.

But Hillary was a better candidate since she loved taking money.

It was a vote for change.

Clinton would not have brought change. All Clinton news stank of rigging and corruption.

The election process is understood to be legally corrupt due to the legal way you can buy politicians. The process by which laws are passed is well known to be corrupt; lobbyists buying laws while the opinions of citizens is ignored. The most wealthy become wealthier due to the well known way our money is created and used in our corrupt economic system. It is proven via the emails Clinton and the dnc rigged the democratic primary. Corruption. That is the single issue a lot of Americans voted for.

Independents/democrats voted for trump not because of trump, they voted for the enemy of my enemy. Politicians hate trump, the media hates trump, corporate America hates trump, Wall Street hates trump. There's nothing I hate more than them. They are the corrupters.

Donald trump probably is a con man, corruptable. But maybe, just maybe he can blow up this cancer of a system.

It's racism. Not a loud vocal racism but a silent festering one that has been stoked by the fear mongering republican party and having a black president for the last 8 years. Trump gave them a way out. I mean not for everyone of coarse but enough for him to eke out his victory.

I don't think 50% of our country is THAT racist though. Maybe I'm wrong.

IDK either, but that's the only reason i can think of why the polls would be so off. I have to think that people didn't vocally want to say they were voting for him because he's such a pig but did secretly did.

You're not wrong. This attitude will make us lose in 2020. Trump won. So we need to get some of the votes he got this election in 2020. Yelling racist at him won't make him lose. Actually having a candidate that seems genuine and has policies that come from conviction rather than status quo will beat him. Hillary's message was 'stronger together', basically 'shut up and vote for me'. She had no actual policies that stood out to swing voters.
