I never expected this subreddit to become the kind of thriving community it is. For several months after I created it, there were only a few posts a week and no kind of community that could be described.

Yes, media outlets are calling the race for Trump, and Clinton has conceded. We are facing the Presidency of the man we worked to stop. But this doesn't mean we should give up on our country and our concerns.

This subreddit will continue, and we will do our part to hold Trump accountable for any actions of policies he takes that harm this country or its people.

Voting and elections are the smallest part of a democracy. Being engaged in our communites, being active in organizing for change and progress, that's really what living in a free country is about. We will not allow Trump to change that, and we will not silence ourselves.

For the last eight years I have watched as conservatives in my country, community, and even family have tried to delegitimize President Obama. Well now I feel the need to return the favor, that Fanta Fascist will never be my president nor will I respect him in the slightest. Well, I honestly didn't expect this. I've lurked this subreddit for quite a long while now, and seeing that we're now going to be the indentured servants of a madman with a bad tan, the only feasible way to deal with this problem is to stand together and organise. That is the premise of democracy, after all. I mean, I never actually realised how serious this could actually be until Election Day crawled closer and closer. Heck, I ended up having to call the Lifeline because of what just happened. I was genuinely horrified. I'm still worried about what could happen to us and our country. But all things considered, we shouldn't let that stop us. We can continue fighting just like what we've been doing from the start.

I didn't think this day would come. But at the very least I hope that this sub will continue to provide a place to talk about President Elect Trump in a critical way. I hope our worst fears are not realized, and that he can be the president that he says he can be. But at the very least I want his failures documented here for all to see.

Ah, I remember when ETS was new too. When this sub had a bluish background and the sidebar image had an outline of Trump with I believe a star on his mouth. At most you'd get like 2 comments per post.
