I think "shy" trump voters were a thing. He was unprecedentedly controversial, I just listened to an Inquiring Minds podcast and they interview a poorer white guy and he talks about what drew him to Trump. He was tired of being told his grievances were less important than those of minorities and being talked over.

That's actually a legit grievance (I mean, it's common and so it is legit). The problem is thinking Donald Trump will help him any. He'll just fuck over everyone.

But yeah, the Dems need to work more to attract white voters.

USA 2016 - Looking like they're wrong, certainly underestimated Trump vote.

If I had to guess, Trump's voters were the people that agreed with his policies but weren't open about it. They knew he's a sucker for bad press, and didn't want to be associated with him.

All I can do is pray that if he wins, he's really the moderate some of my friends say he is.
