After moving in to a new house in August near Guildford where HelloGames are based I was given a new landline phone number. Soon after moving in I started getting phone calls from people asking if I was "HelloGames". I had never heard of NoMansSky or this company before and told people they had got the wrong number. As the days went on I started getting more and more calls, about 7-8 a day at first and then 20+ each day. I had a google around and it turns out the phone company had given me the only number registered as HelloGames landline number. Can I just say the audience for this game is almost a 50:50 perfect mixture of very nice, polite people and hateful, rage filled maniacs. I don't know if people thought I was lying about being HelloGames or what but a lot of people made me confirm several times that I was in fact not HelloGames, one guy even asking "How am I meant to believe if you are HelloGames or not?" I wanted to make this post sooner but I have only just got my number changed again and knew if I did it whilst I still had the HelloGames number that the calling would just get worse. I never knew people could get quite so angry about a game. I hope whatever injustice HelloGames has done to you people is eventually resolved, but for now I'm very happy to never have to talk to any of you again.

Indicating that either the number has now been passed on to a GameStop, or the OP is bullshitting us.

Did you happen to ask the GameStop if they've had the number for awhile? That would be the tell...

Edit: Never having seen the number, oddly enough I was able to see it in the OP's post/comment history (so much for deleting posts that give out phone #s). A quick Google does indeed show it as a listing for Hello Games. Probably changed it so the phone wasn't ringing constantly. :)

HelloGames is UK and we don't have GameStop in the UK so it can't belong to them

You do know the developer blatantly lied about the game, saying you would be able to do all these things in the game (which you could not)? He scammed thousands of people in order to put many millions into his own pocket. That is why he is generally unliked. He is the owner and main spokesperson for Hello Games.

Plus now the company is completely silent and unwilling to say anything.

Was the phone company insanely slow or are you insanely patient? I wouldn't have been able to put up with that for more than a couple days without ripping my phone out of the wall, much less 3 months.
