I wonder what percentage of the kids that are forced into prostitution, are forced from their own parents? I have read a couple offmychests and confessions where people write about it. And in the link above they make it sound like it was at least two different families that were pimping out their children that they caught.
Those poor kids, I hope the state supports them mentally as well as physically wherever they go to.

In fact the single most common way children are either sold into or used for sex slavery is by the parents. For being so horrible this is happening all the fucking time, all around you.

There are literally subreddits here that advocate for the ability to do that. Some of the really far alt-right libertarian/anarchist movements adopted ideology that says children are (and this is where it gets dumb) either their parents property to be sold, or children are able to consent to this.

I was having trouble from the article figuring out how much of this was in the US. The numbers cited seem to be global. All I could find is "youngest US was age 13,", "two sisters in Milwaukee" and "American Citizen in Phillipines" ... so there were at least 3 Americans saved, and 1 American arrested.
Were you able to find any clear numbers on how many of the 82 saved victims and 239 arrested were in the US ?

Investigating Hillary is fine indeed, it's not what they're doing, it's how they did it. Announcing it two? three? weeks before was not professional. Now, you could make the case that they didn't make the decision until that day. But that doesn't seem to be the case with new evidence pointing to that multiple people - including some ex-Mayor - knew days prior to the FBI revealing.
If people knew before, they not only had an issue releasing that they were investigating things relating to Hillary, they also have a leakage issue, and these are federal agents, not your local PD. These people handle threats relating to terrorism, national security - and among then there is a leaker.

Becoming parents doesn't make bad people become good. Of course this story describes particularly extreme incidents. I recall over on the personal finance sub, repeated stories of people whose parents took out loans in the names of their children. As adults, they are then left with a choice: accept their credit rating is screwed, and they are responsible for the debts of their parents, or report their own parents to the police.
Fortunately most children grow up with decent parents.

It is sadly very common. I'm in California and learned that kids and adults are trafficked within state too. They drug and disorient them by flying them back and forth and isolating them.

I wish I was so optimistic. I just got done re watching The Wire, and that show does such a good job of showing how politics, police work, the media, the general public, and the streets are all related while one fucks the other in an incestual relationship until the whole group is handicapped.

But let's also remember the 600 plus working mothers, college students, and others who were arrested for prostitution over the course of this sting. Not to soapbox, but of the hundreds and thousands of taxpayer dollars that went into this, 95% of it is wasted on adult sex workers doing it of their own free will.
