If Trump loses on Tuesday, will Republican politicians decide that the alt-right is politically toxic to their careers, thus ending the alt-right's chances of having political power?

If Hillary wins, I want to have as much fun/enjoyment/glee as possible, but I am genuinely concerned.

It feels like the country is headed in a bad direction.

Additional questions:

  • Will the alt-right fade away like the Tea Party did?

  • Will Republican politicians decide that a single compromise with Hillary on any issue be toxic to their careers?

  • Will America experience isolated incidents of violence from loony alt-right members?

  • Will alt-right members find isolated incidents of vote-rigging?

You're right that the Tea Party & alt-right consist of largely the same morons, but the Tea Party wasn't openly fascist and racist.

By the way, the Bernie Sanders revolution was basically Occupy with a figurehead?

Unfortunately they are not going away. The fact is Russia is pushing hard-right sentiment in the US and Western Europe. Until there is a large scale effort to shut down Russian efforts to do this, the alt right will be propped up by this false sense of wide spread support.

Why does Russia push for/fund hard-right sentiment in the US and Western Europe?

I have no doubt that it does, but I don't understand why Putin thinks this scores points for Russia.

Far right is anti-government, anti-government is isolationist, isolationist is anti-NATO, anti-NATO is pro Russia.

Russia's economy is BAD right now. They need to push out into Ukraine and possibly turkey to overcome sanctions imposed on them by the West. They can't do this with a strong NATO in their way. If they can reduce NATOs strength even a little bit, they can position themselves to be more economically independent. Shit, they took Crimea without even breaking a sweat against a strong NATO.
