I voted for the first time today and it was great.
I just had to tell someone how amazing it was because I'm in Texas and no one here will appreciate it. My neighbors all have Trump signs in their yards, one is sign that looks like it favors Clinton at a distance but upon closer inspection reads 'Clinton, for prison.'
I walked into the poll location and this sweet lady asked me how I was doing, I said "Pretty good, its my first time voting", and she said "Hey everyone we got a first timer!", and they clapped for me. It all felt very welcoming. I couldn't be happier that my first vote actually feels like it will count for something. I'm a student at UT Arlington and our campus is extremely diverse, it pains me when I think that a presidential candidate would attempt to ruin all of that. I love our students and the diversity of our country. Here's to a better future!
