When news breaks, everyone's in a hurry to post it - same as anywhere else, really. You're right that it can be kind of echo-chambery in /politics, but I think it's less because of CTR (because CTR has become all but meaningless and just means "person w/ opinions I don't like") and more because most people outside of conservative circlejerks are sick and tired of Trump/his followers' bullshit.

You can only witness so much hate, willful ignorance, and cult-like thinking before you lose your empathy for them and shut the fuck down on trying to have legit discussion.
