It's not a good time to be a United fan, we all know that. It's especially not a good time to be browsing /r/reddevils. We're watching our team capitulate unceremoniously to the likes of Fenerbahce. In the Europa league. We all fucking hate it.
But we're too big to fall. We will never, ever die. We have Jose Mourinho, a world class manager proven with several of Europe's elite clubs, and we have time. Time which will make it all that much sweeter when we eventually win our 21st league title.
We have seen from previous games that when the team 'clicks' and puts in the effort, we can play some very very good football - we are only lacking in the final product. I think this is what Jose meant in his post match press conference today about the players treating the game as a summer friendly. That confidence, spark, whatever you may call it was not there from the players today and it was disheartening to watch.
By all means we are all going to be incredibly disappointed in the result for the next couple of days; and rightly so. But let's not forget who we are, and let's try not to slate the players too much. Just remember how much you love those same players when they win, and remember that this is only the Europa league in a group where we only need 4 points from 2 games - Feyenoord and Zorya Luhansk - to qualify for the knockout stages.
Win or lose we are Manchester United, and we are not a club that turns on its own players. This is not twitter.
