Fenerbache are 8 points off 1st in the fucking Turkish league, they are a genuinely shite team yet we they completely outplayed us. Can't blame the team for the goals conceded and obviously Rooney's goal was outstanding but to be honest the rest of the performance was genuinely dogshit. No width, no creativity, no cohesion, no penetration, no organisation, nothing. We have some great wide players yet we didn't even seem to try to isolate them against the Fenerbache full backs, just 90 minutes of playing in front of the opposition. Barely created a chance against fucking Martin Skrtel and co. Really pathetic performance

  • Shaw has not been the same since his injury
  • Rooney scored a nice goal but his chance in the first half literally any professional footballer should at least be getting a shot off

I'm not gonna go into full meltdown mode like most people, and I'm not calling for Mourinho's head.

But not enough has changed from Van Gaal's days.

Defence is about the same.

Strikers aren't making runs behind the defence.

Apart from Mata no one is working out as #10, and even he would get eaten alive against high-pressing teams like Liverpool.

Team doesn't have the mental strength to come back from behind either.

I'm not sure what's the problem. There's enough really good players for every position.

No one better than Mourinho is available, and while he did fuck some things up so far, I don't think he's the problem either.

This is also exactly what happened under Van Gaal, players playing out of position and just getting tactically outclassed by average and sometimes awful teams, seems we are just going to constantly be going through a rebuilding period until good players no longer want to join us and we have to settle for mediocrity.

I don’t know how we’re going to fix this to be honest. What’s this now? 6 games without a win? If it wasn’t for the unfortunate goal in the 1st minute maybe Fenerbahce wouldn’t have defended so well and things may have gone differently. Good goal from Rooney in the end but I am quite disappointed he miscontrolled that chance from Martial.

Bailly injured, Pogba injured, Valencia injured, Herrera not available for Swansea. Everyone else underperforming. I want Rashford to play up top on his own and give Ibra a rest. Rooney hasn’t done enough for me for him to get back in the starting line up even with that goal.

I am so fucking tired of describing every game as absolute cancer that I really don't even feel the need to be angry anymore. It's just pure disappointment that week in week out the players think it's acceptable to produce these types of performances. We don't show passion, we don't attack with vigour, we don't defend (at all in fact) and as a result we get consistently outplayed.

This felt like peak Moyes. Play 4 strikers when chasing the game. Replace Rooney, Martial, Rashford and Zlatan with RVP, Rooney, Chicharito and Welbeck.Except in our case we're playing a 1 striker system and Mata at times was playing up front.
