Just to remind any lawyers on here. Between this and Indiegogo they raised over $2.5 million. They've also backed 259 projects, of which some are very very expensive.
If you wonder where you're HiddenHub is, you could ask John and Vitor, but they're probably too busy sipping their cocktails on a beach and playing with all their expensive toys to hear you.
I am missing a @kickstarter note on this ..... still the info of the project and nothing legal against them ... such a disaster on the platform ..... They won 1 USD Million on us.... I hope they eat penny after penny until they have an indigestion ...
This is the second comment i am posting . My refund has not reached me. The Hiddenradio2 that I received now does not work!!! How do I get that fixed ? Very frustrating !!!!
they should be investigated by the authorities at the very least. also this is the last time im backing any KS project. the risk is simply not worth the cost savings.
Hi, to those waiting for your hidden radio 2, I'm afraid to report that I did receive mine, but they're absolute garbage (quite literally). I thought at least I could use these and, although I lost a lot of money on the Hub, it wasn't a total bust. Oh dear..
Of the two HR 2's I received they both looked great and initially worked, sort of. The 'stereo pairing' was pretty bad and would lose connectivity if there was much distance between them. Multiroom, without the app, obviously didn't work at all.
Within 20 minutes one of them broke - wouldn't close no matter what I tried in terms of powering off, resetting etc. After getting fed up and leaving it overnight (not plugged in), it then just claimed it was low on power no matter what I tried the next day. As they've taken the website down, any hope of looking up support problems is gone.
The second did work, for a while, but after not very long (a few days) the touch top of it stopped working so I couldn't change the volume or close it. It did continue to work as a speaker, but the sound from those things isn't great. My £10 bluetooth portable anker speaker is comparable (possibly even better).
In the end I've just binned them both. What a waste :/
In the little bit of digging I've done, I've discovered this to be an absolute scam. They are sending canned email responses, they have violated the ToS of kickstarter, they have no proof they created or even attempted to create a product, they have lied to us and violated the contract agreed to by not fully attempting to create the product that was funded. They are fighting people who are filing disputes with their credit card company saying that we didn't purchase anything and they had no responsibility to send us a product. This is completely an act of fraud and kickstarter should be going to extremes to fight this but instead Kickstarter is not doing anything and sending canned responses as well. This, to me, seems like a conspiracy to commit fraud. I haven't seen any evidence that Hidden or Kickstarter have taken any action to actually resolve or investigate this issue. Our money was stolen, no product was created, no money was spent toward the creation of a product, this was completely a scam.
The evidence is in the updates. There were 5 updates before they gave up. In their July 18 update they claimed to be making great progress. They claimed the hardware was in a good state and the software was a little behind. There were photos of a product but not a single photo of production, tooling, manufacturing, location, or even a factory. It was all staged with a mock product they had already created. In the April update they talk about various checkpoints in schedule but have no proof of them in the subsequent updates.
This was an act of fraud. Kickstarter is allowing and colluding in this fraud.
Knew it was a scam to begin with! Guys, please always check past projects before pledging!!! All the shouting and screaming will not help now as the money is simply gone. Nothing anyone can do about it.
I wasn't keeping up with updates on this project. I logged into my paypal and saw the refund and was wondering what this was about. I somehow missed the update in August which gives the horrible news about this project being scrapped. I'm out nearly $275 as are many of you. Some more, some less. I did have some misgivings about contributing to this campaign when they said they weren't going to the Las Vegas CES. What happened here is unconscionable. They raised over 1.3 million dollars here and indiegogo. They still have a live website pointing to indiegogo to order, which is dead. How much of this delay from a manufacturer is true is up for debate. It makes no sense. I would be happy to wait longer if needed. This partial refund is unacceptable. In the past I have obtained refunds from credit card and paypal for bogus or long delayed projects. Paypal will no longer do it, and most likely too late for credit card bank to consider. Worth a try I suppose. Best to back tech from a bigger company that has more than a "prototype" or just forget this and pay full price if the thing ever comes to fruition. I have backed many projects and still waiting on a good portion of them. I find John and Vito's decision to end this fool hearty. To have gone this far and not find a proper factory to complete this project raises suspicion. Keep far away from them if they try to promote any more projects in the future. They would do themselves a favor by releasing their financial documents to support their claims. They certainly went to a lot of trouble to promote a scam. So I think they "meant well"and had full intentions of producing this, or so it seems. Ultimately, very sad.
There are 2.357 Backers on Kickstarter + xx Backers on Indiegogo who ordered a HiddenHub.
Someone should start a project on Indiegogo to collect money for a good lawyer, who will do all the work. Such projects are possible on Indiegogo.
Sorry to her that the project encountered problems and had to be cancelled. I hope you can survive financially. Please do remove the 'Pre Order Now' button though. Sad to never see this materialize, as well as, partially, to personally lose some money.
So I have gotten some replies on my emails but very unsatisfactory. It is impossible to return the Hidden Radio 2s whcih I find very unsatisfactory and fuels my thinking this is all a big scam. The fact there is no update whatsoever nor a reasonable answer to some very ligit questions being asked here only confirms this. Again, we all know this is part of Kickstarter but I think it is also part of Kickstarter projects to be transparent and give backers a reasonable explanation. I am happy to join any formal/lega initiative that is being set up.
@ Apollo, thanks for your reply. So as you said, they had been planning to close down before announcing their failure. So they now have winded up everything. WTF..!
I was promised a partial refund but I haven't received anything! No response from them at all! How can I get it? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers!
So, I paid £252 , got my £69 back.
Show us the accounts guys. How was my £183 spent try to ensure I got my reward.
Flights to and from china? Lavish meals? What did you pay yourselves as you lost our cash? Did any of this cash pay off existing debts from your previous projects?
The things you did produce - the design, the tooling, the software etc. Assuming you were not making it all up, who owns that? Am I likely to see remarkably similar Hudden Hibs for sale on Amazon soon?
You owe us a better explanation than 'wait, wait, its all going great, sorry goodbye'
And to kickstarter, your platform is dead in the water if you dont try to police this stuff.
OK Guys, everybody is pissed on...but any productive tipps?
Sombody got an message from Kickstarter?
-> They looked out for the Zano Fraud maybe here too.
I got my HiddenRadio2 and like them but I don´t understand how somebody could hold up the hope 10 Updates long and break down... where are the $1.239.639 gone... maybe 40% in production and planing...but nobody spent up 76% to say all gone.
I have still missing $520 and don´t just want to give up
Any chance over Creditcardcompany?
or any Investigastion Place you could give over?
An class-action lawsuit ? I would sign.
(But then it should be in US)

If your PayPal and Kickstarter address differ just add the the KS address to the PayPal account and the payment will be received. It happened to me and that's exactly what the PayPal email suggested and it worked.
They are very skilled scammers for sure. They first made their first campaign known to people and did deliver their products regardless of the quality. You guys can check the backers’ comment on the little speakers to see how negative it is! Afterwards, these guys launched this Hub campaign while the shit with the speakers had not been settled. They had been making the scam plan elaborately.
Fair enough though I guess it was a tough circumstance all round. Being through many successes and many failures myself it was definitely the failures that taught me the most. Could there have been things that could have been done better, probably though hindsight is a wonderful teacher. All I'm saying is yeah it's not the best outcome though I've seen projects that haven't given anything back.
@Laurence, but they had decided to give up straight before asking for any help and advice from backers. They had been showing any clue to give up before the last update...!
Hi guys, I don’t want to perpetuate the string of whiny comments. I too would have loved a shiny new hub though I know I’m on Kickstarter and things happen. I am entrepreneur too, I’ve started quite a few successful businesses, but I’ve also had my fair share of failures and naturally it is never pretty. Of course as a backer I would have loved to receive the product or a full refund, but I also understand these things happen. All I can say is to keep moving forward and doing the right thing. Those who haven’t done any venture like this will often be the loudest voices, but it is important to keep moving forward. We really need less whiny voices and more guts to take chances. I look forward to what you undertake in your future and keep working to innovate, it is what this country was built on.
So I guess Kickstarter is reading these comments and deleting some. But I guess that's as much as they'll do. NEVER again will I back anything on here. Thank you again Kickstarter for being such a great company :) lol.
@all, the following is their previous campaign getting a lot of negative comments. In fact, the creator has closed down all their website and Facebook. Even now you have received the small speakers, their App for this HiddenRadio2 is dead already, no more update for ages. The App has not yet been properly developed and not ready for user. They had planned to scam before launching the first project. As noted from the comments on the HR2, some backers even not received the speaker from the creator.. so sad!!
Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!
