Lol, thanks for the report. Will take it under advisement

They only know how to trust an authority, so fucking be one.

That's pretty much it in a nutshell. These days it's not even particularly difficult to be that authority what with Google and YouTube available to save your ass even before things go amiss with whatever you're working on.

Edit: this was a challenge for me when I was a young guy. I'm a talker but I learned the hard way.

Excellent post. It has been awhile, but I fucked up last Friday and

You aren't confident about the decision you have made, and for some fucked-up reason, you think that expressing your uncertainty will help get confidence from the herd.

Her reaction was hilarious in the sense that she was really hungry for some fresh meet since I have been starving the D.E.E.R for months, and she immediately and ruthlessly:

Did she immediately jump into 'micking atmocking me' mode?

I recovered with some A&A, and then doubled down the next day on my decision by leaving 8 hours earlier that I had said the previous day. btw, I used my Google-fu but could not figure out what "micking at me" meant and I am half-Irish.

edit - spelling

Really? To I've had it used interchangeably with nag, but you don't actually care to know what words she uses.

Like peanuts teacher.

[–]ScurvemuchMRP APPROVED 1

And here we go with some "faggots" thinking you don't ever actually tell her why you are doing a thing.

She may give you a token response of questioning you. 9/10 times she wants to know that you know. That's it.

Somebody lit a fire in his belly about DEER-ing. Lawyers get paid to DEER by the hour. Two interesting and completely unrelated facts I am sure.

[–]RuleZeroDADMRP APPROVED 0

That's why I don't DEER for free.

For one, ha ha ha...Almost got me.

If you are good at something, never do it for free.

Funnily enough, I always get a few PMs every time I write something. It's almost as if we men have all similar issues.

[–]ScurvemuchMRP APPROVED 0

does yours think she gets paid the same way at home?

[–]BluepillProfessorMarried-MRP MODERATOR 0

Unfortunately DEER-ing is my problem, not hers.

Who wants technical solutions before they realize that they need them? 'If you're good at something, never do it for free.' And you're only respected when you get paid in either respect or money.

[–]BluepillProfessorMarried-MRP MODERATOR 0

That argument is called a logical tautology. Like saying, you only get laid when you do.

Irregardless if I chose the wrong words, or if you've misunderstood me, I wasn't being tautological.

If a person is looking for the DEER or not, that matters. If you explain shit to me, but I think you're a weird, creepy old guy, then I won't listen to you. But if I'm begging you to explain that shit for me, then I might even pay you for that. But you're still explaining the same shit.

Learning the concepts of DEER and STFU was truly a turning point in my recovery from betaization. We need constant reminders like this.

So easy to slip in this department. Yesterday she sent me a text about how I did the lunches for school wrong. I didn't, they loved them and they even picked them out. That irrelevant anyway. I answered with 1 word logistical responses twice then STFU.

Then we go trick or treating after school. Lots of fun. Making out infront of all the other parents. Generally a really good night.

We get home, kids are checking the candy out, I'm getting ready for a shower and she drops a subtle shit test about the lunches again. Less than 10 seconds later I've fully DEER'd and she is smiling as she walks away. In my head "FUCK!"

Lessons. Always STFU and everything said on this sub is true. AWALT.

Yeah but how much is DEERing? You can't always stfu for every response, I guess you am and aa right? But every single time you say anything to defend yourself, it's deering?!

Yes. She will never admit you were right anyway. AWALT. When defending and engaging in an argument, you always come off soft and weak. Seriously, when you STFU and go back to doing what it was you were doing, how often does she come back to talk about something different? As if it didn't even matter what was being talked about earlier?

Also something that's rarely discussed on here is when you allow yourself to lose frame and fall into an argument, it's a PRIME opportunity for her to POWER TALK. Be very aware of this sort of behavior!

[–]BluepillProfessorMarried-MRP MODERATOR 0

Because by defending yourself you give weight to the charges. If a little girl was whining about you and making allegations would you take the time to explain why you are not the worst daddy in the whole entire world? NO! You should smile, pat her on the head and tell her she is a cute little girl.

Comfort in having enough confidence in ones self to make a decision that will or will not have consequences with others, means absolutely nothing. It is a reaction of emotions and the emotions are not yours.

Just STFU and limiting what you say is a good step to reduce or bring the DEERing to a complete stop, All the while giving you time to build your confidence and frame.

Yes, I agree that STFU is imperative as a first step but learning to take care of yourself in relation to your health is just as important.

"De Tooling" for the faggots comes at the understanding of what DEERing is and how it strips your confidence and serenity of being a solid male and mate to the SO

Lifting gives you good time pondering your statements and realizing your fuckups. And, what not to repeat

Anti DEERing. If a bear shits in the woods does he tell smokey the bear he couldn't make it to the toilet, couldn't hold and was about to ruin his undies ? or does he walk off ?

You don't have to actually be one, just shut the fuck up about your doubts, the bar for competent-fuck is pretty god damned low, what with the new fangled products and shit we got to help out. A hundred years of engineering successes have removed death-by-failure from the system. You now live in a society that you have to actively work at killing yourself, or others, one stupid decision won't mess it up.

May I suggest that you don't try cutting down trees? lol

Is "cutting down trees" apropos of nothing or am I missing a new inside joke...I'm curious.

Because you no longer HAVE to cut down trees since Wallyworld sells pre-bundled logs for like $4. So you would have to go out of your way to kill yourself by going out to cut down a tree or two for some firewood.

If you heat with wood all winter (like we do) you'd need several thousand dollars' worth of those pre-bundled logs to do the job. Then there is the problem of having a dead or dying tree precipitously close to your house, barn, etc., which necessitates its removal.

My point was that if you're doing actual dangerous stuff, yeah, "one stupid decision" CAN get you killed! But then, I work on a farm. There are lots of ways for the inattentive or inexperienced to get killed on a farm. Silo gases. Operating tractors on slopes. Not paying attention to the bull. Last fall one of my bosses' hired men reversed the polarity on the plug on the motor on the grain dryer and electrocuted five heifers who were standing along a nearby steel gate. Could have been a person just as easily. You should probably add "Don't mess with high voltage" to that list, lol.

I like that you said "heifers" on a trp-related sub...

Are we talking cows or weed?

Virgin cows, yes.

Now with Femenism, they are largely extinct, instead choosing to write for Buzzfeed

Strictly speaking, I believe they just haven't borne a calf. Which means they might still be riding the CC - Cow Carousel. Holy fuck... am I funny or what? The answer is....what. I'm not funny.

LOL, you are correct. The progression goes ---> Heifer, bred heifer, springing heifer (almost ready to calve), first-calf heifer, cow.

First-calf heifers are like flighty unwed teenaged mothers. By the time they've had their second calf, they settle into nice matronly cow-ishness. :-)

Not even going to google Buzzfeed. I'm sure I'm better off not knowing

But I did read somewhere that kids now call weed "trees" lol

I've run over myself with my own tractor before. Even on the ranch, it's still hard to kill yourself.

Surprised you spent that much on a cord or two. Most just get pellet stoves now you know. fuck, been too long, was it called a cord of firewood?

Pellet stoves are for pussies, lol.

And we don't spend anything on wood -- there's too much that can be had for free, either in our own woods, friends who need dead trees taken down or people giving it away on Craigslist.

Cutting wood is a manly thing to do. It takes a little motivation, some logic, some reasoning, some bravery, some risk taking, a cool hand, motor skills, some strength, stamina, and other things I'm probably not even thinking of. Men fell trees, they saw it up, they wrestle with chain saws, they sharpen chains with a file, they pick up each piece like 5 times, they spit it, they stack it, they burn it. And they are happy for it. When they do this they do not explain it to the trees, they do not defend their actions to tree huggers, they do not apologize to the neighbors for the noise. When they saw through a log and piles of carpenter ant pieces come out with the chips, they do not rationalize that the need to heat their home is greater than the ant's right to live.

They saw wood, they feel awesome doing it, and they provide heat for their homes. I'm a lumber jack, and I'm OK.....

Says the man who never unloaded a pallet of 50lb pellet bags.

I've given up on using manual labour to feel manly. Military crushed that impulse. Also firing guns. Now all I think about is the amount of cleaning I have to do everytime it goes off

You can stick with your pussy pellet pallets, I have to go fuck some shit up with a chain saw now. And when I'm done, I'll relentlessly pound on it until it's in even smaller pieces with a 12 pound maul. My wood pile is in plain view of the kitchen window not by accident. It's there for a reason. Does your girl get turned on by watching you stack sacks of store bought pellets by the pallet?

Lifting is for liftings sake. My days of branding cows, throwing bales, and moving irrigation lines are behind me. I now carve squishy flesh into man, and it's an art form I enjoy
