On Tuesday, days before the 2016 presidential election, the FBI did the right thing. Realizing that Comey’s letter about possible Clinton emails that may or may not be relevant being found on renowned pervert Anthony Weiner’s computer might have seemed just a teensy bit like the Republican FBI head might have been trying to sway the election, the FBI tweeted out all the information they have on Trump University.
Just kidding! They re-released old information related to the William Jefferson Clinton Foundation in what appears to be another overreaching attack on the Democratic candidate by a government entity.
At around noon Eastern, the FBI Records Vault account, which was largely unused since late 2015, released more Clinton files that have no relevance to the election but were clearly intended to sway it.

Shortly afterward, Wikileaks falsely claimed that the documents were related to a current investigation:

Naturally, people noticed the suspicious nature of the tweet, especially given that no wrongdoing was found:
.@FBIRecordsVault please release the records detailing how this tweet was conceived of

@ebruenig @seanmdav Oct 8th, –>2015<–. A year ago. This is an odd time for them to just happen to start tweeting again.

WTF, @FBIRecordsVault? No wrongdoing was found in this ancient case. Why on earth would you release this a week before the election?

@GREGORYVH @FBIRecordsVault Transparency is only good when it's not Trump's taxes, his sexual assaults, or his Russia ties I guess.

@FBIRecordsVault Seriously? This is getting ridiculous. Impartiality -> gone from this election.

@FBIRecordsVault you are meddling in an election. I hope it's proven you're colluding with the republicans.

@FBIRecordsVault why are you releasing these records from an investigation closed in 2005 a week before the election?

@FBIRecordsVault what the fuck?

@FBIRecordsVault This investigation was closed 11 YEARS AGO. Why are you releasing this today?

Senator Harry Reid recently announced that the FBI has been provided with “explosive information” about Trump’s connection to the Russian government he repeatedly praises.
“In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors and the Russian government — a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity,” Reid wrote in a letter to Comey last weekend. “The public has a right to know this information.”
Instead, the FBI apparently ignored that information, which reportedly comes from a U.S. spy and is related to a Russian plan to “cultivate Donald Trump,” and announced there were “no clear ties” between Trump and Putin, whose proverbial c*ck The Donald spends a good amount of time fellating.
A spokesman for the Clinton campaign calls the timing of this release “odd” and asks when the FBI will be releasing documents related to Trump’s housing discrimination in the 1970’s.
Absent a FOIA litigation deadline, this is odd.

We, of course, wonder when the FBI will be releasing documents related to Trump University scamming its students.
For some reason, the FBI seems to be helping the trump campaign a lot these days. Make sure you don’t fall for…whatever this is.
