"Don't Be Evil"

[–]I_ONLY_FUCK_PATRIOTSCA 102ポイント103ポイント  (5子コメント)

I mean it's hard to not be evil when you're the definition of pure evil, or colluding with it.

Yep. Most people consider there actions in light of what they consider to be normal. If you're surrounded by evil people who do evil all of the time, you probably don't think you're being evil. It just seems normal or perhaps even "right", or at the least justified.

The road to Hell (Evil) is paved with good intentions. Google's motto should be "Be Neutral". People need to be very careful with Google and President Trump ought to break them up and create anti surveillance laws that they can not give you the option to "opt-in" on.

Huh, I actually never understood that quote before. But yeah, you're totally right

You know, it's always hilarious when my own personal conspiracy theories are proven right and I get to wave it in the faces of everyone who doubted me. I've been watching Carlin's rants about corruption in the government and documentaries about "the invisible hand behind the government" since I was in the single-digits, so my mind often drifts to conspiracy before anything else when it comes to reading news headlines or thinking about the connections of anyone in the government to anyone else with any potential political gains that they might be willing to pay for.

Yet, no matter how many times I show people I was right, they never listen the next time something obvious comes up. "Yeah sure, you were right the last 22 times, but this time is different. There's no way huge companies with a lot to gain through monetary political influence like Google, Microsoft, or [REDACTED] are in any way conspiring with the institutional corruption that you've already shown us exists beyond a shadow of a doubt in the mainstream media. No way could you be right about rigged voting machines despite the fact that the companies who make the machines are Clinton donators, just like how you were right about all that NSA spying stuff that Snowden revealed. That would be crazy."

There's another thing - all those people that doubt conspiracy theorists sure do love to use the word "crazy," don't they? It's almost like they were influenced by the same source, as if an unnamed government's numerous attempts to poison the well were successful. How strange!

Jeez...are there any tech companies that aren't totally in her pocket? Explains why I never get any pro Trump news in Google now.

Then help me comb through the WL for anything about VoteBuilder and NGP Van:

https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/37262

For each voter, a score is computed ranking probability of the right vote. Analytics can model demographics, social factors and many other attributes of the needed voters. Modeling will tell us what who we need to turn out and why, and studies of effectiveness will let us know what approaches work well. Machine intelligence across the data should identify the most important factors for turnout, and preference.

It should be possible to link the voter records in Van with upcoming databases from companies like Comcast and others for media measurement purposes.

the reason this is actually worse than you think is that this is how you can take out opposition precincts with precision. Google knows your home address and how you are going to vote. They also know your voting precinct. They also know who you are likely to support. This means that you can change an entire neighborhoods voter affiliation without disrupting the entire election. So that people can still vote in the General without letting opposition participate in the Primary. Take out a dozen blocks of Brooklyn and you can win. This is it. This is how the primary was rigged against Sanders.

This is some next level evil shit

This can only persist with tribalism. We need to recognize that these power structures only work if 60% of Democrats have zero respect for Republicans and vice versa. They have some valid concerns about what is wrong with the right, and the right has valid reasons for distrusting the left. This stuff about supporting the letters by the name needs to end. We're all Patriots here. This fight has been about serfs vs lords. Establishment vs reform. It's the masses vs puppet masters. We are being sold out by both parties. That is Trumps appeal for many. He got a huge boost when Republicans started jumping ship. Because not even conservatives trust Republicans. Bernie got yuuuge rallies because not even liberals trust Democrats. We need to call out our own side. It is the only way to get our country back.

Tinfoil time, if FBI anon is to believed this is being done on a governmental level to create some sort of master database. Actually it would be an effective method for tracking Isis.

MIT runs a program similar to this to map "human networks." Here's the Clinton network courtesy of wikileaks.

dealing with email metadata/messaging is stone age snowden stuff IMO, what he's describing is everything. What you look at, where you move with your phone (the device could judge your probable enthusiasm for a pitch and adjust). Response time, heck your actual responses and tone of them in your emails and postings. Unlimited Power. It could be parsing this post.

I was a machine learning/big data engineer when Eric Schmidt was at the helm way back when idealism still counted for something at Google. Looking at this leaked email, I can't help but think this is how technologists who ignore human creativity sounds like. Yes, we can make machines learn a lot about people, but that is never going to be powerful as someone like Donald Trump who inspires people organically. This is why Google lost the social network war.

You can't classify people like fruits and pictures. A good technologist understands that human creativity is magical, and the best we can do is to provide people tools to harness that.

Legitimately interested in how you read the email you linked to and came to any of the conclusions you listed. Please help me understand.

Right? Its just a boilerplate plan for leveraging some demographics data using the same tactics every online company already uses. I'd honestly be shocked if republican campaigns aren't utilizing this.

Thank you. Yeah, the text doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary. Even the data analytics is how nearly every tech company already operates. I couldn't find anything saying that they are using the personal data of their own users. The voting database that they're starting with seems to be third party.

This poster seems to just be intimidated by words like "machine learning"

Yeah and nothing in this email suggests any partnership between Hillary and Google. They don't mention using google to profile people, just that they plan to use "software". It could be any other CRM type software. There are plenty of other things to be concerned about people don't need to start inventing reasons.

Not surprised. Stop using Google products and services, educate people to do the same.

Do your part to fix the world.

That explains Hillary's unbelievably awful campaign.

Everything google has touched for the last 8 years has been fucking terrible but they have "fuck up as much as you want it doesn't matter" money.

Is there a replacement for google voice? It is the last google service that I use. I host my own mail server, use Cyanogenmod with fdroid, and have been using duck duck go as my primary search engine. There doesn't seem to be a service that replaces google voice after they bought grand central, preferably self hosted. If I can replace that, I'll be google free.

Can anyone point to a good guide to removing yourself from all of Google's services and closing your accounts?

Is there an easy guide that someone can recommend to setting up a personal domain and paying for email service?

What about cell phone OS alternatives? Apple is pretty much the alternative, correct?

Thanks in advance to anything you guys can recommend.
