A Christian left a letter on my door step

After having removed about 20 of them my patience is exhausted.

Anyone that posts "r/thathappened" on this thread will be permanently banned.

It is not an interesting comment to make. It is not clever. It is not funny and it is not insightful. It is a vacuous noncomment that does not promote debate in any way and its only function is to be shittily annoying in as few letters as possible.

Think this is a fake? That's your prerogative. Provide evidence. Make this assumption reasonable through observation.

Do not limit your comment to one single reference to another subreddit.

That letter reads like satire. It was cracking me up. I don't know what kind of decorations you had, but for comedy's sake I was picturing a lone jack-o-lantern sitting on a porch.

That right there would piss me off to the point of putting up even more decorations with the explicit goal of pissing this asshat off, and keeping them up year round.

Dear Believer,

The purpose of this letter is to address the issue of supporting evil and Christianity. Your sado-masochistic torture decorations are a disgusting display of the glorification of a vicarious martyr-complex. Love of gods in your church is displayed on your front porch. I can only imagine what your fellow atheists passing by your address think of our neighbourhood when they see outrageous and offensive material like that displayed openly. This is a proud, secular and people loving community. I demand that you remove the judgemental ornamentations and never engage in such condemning activities that are so harmful to everyone around you. There are young and impressionable children that look upon your church specifically and think it is okay to place your faith in false idols.

Again, take down your decoration tonight and never display such blatantly propagandist material in our rational neighbourhood. I will talk to you and persuade you to start thinking for yourself. I invite you to my house for tea and cake and a nice chat.

You're a Satan lover and you support evil. Remove your stuff, or else. I assume you're not a Christian, but all your neighbors are, and I pull out of my ass that they're as pissed off as I am. Take everything down, because only we have the right to indoctrinate impressionable children.

Maybe a kindly response letter sent to the church informing them of the Christian history of halloween, or All Hallows' Eve. An unsurprisingly few Christians know about the history of the day.

(tbh, it actually probably wouldn't net you much if it is a Baptist churchgoer that left the note, but hey, ya never know until you try)

I also love how sanctimonious these morons are without even understanding their own religion. I'm willing to bet they have a painting or figurine of Jesus/God/Mother Mary in their house. Guess what, that's blasphemy and you're going to hell.

2 Thou shalt have no other gods before me

3 Thou shalt not create graven images or likenesses

SO either you're violating one of the ten commandments by using a graven image to worship God/Christ or you're violating two of the ten commandments by praying to an image/statue of someone who isn't God/Christ.

Also, only Hypocrites pray in church.

Matthew 6:5 And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the temples and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. 6 But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. Yeah, going to church and publicly praising jesus/god is a sin.

this is what I would have done. I would have worked my ass off from the moment I received this letter. First, I would have taken pictures of my yard, then I would have gotten my hands on the most satanic iconography I could find. Baphomets, taxidermied animals, pentagrams, and make my lawn a spectacle. I'd come to the door wearing devil horns or a goat mask to hand out candy...

But that wouldn't be the best part. I'd walk down the lawn to the horrified parents and hand them copies of the letter. On the back side, would be pictures of my lawn when I received the letter. I'd have a copy being held by the annoying skeleton prominently readable due to a lawn light if necessary. I'd put one on my door (adult height, to keep it to PG-13 crowd if possible).

And on Sunday, I'd show up to the church in my Sunday best - wearing a pumpkin mask if I felt generous, something more blasphemous otherwise. I'd have a stack of copies of this letter and pictures, and I'd hand them out to perishers as they entered for mass, and the priest when I got the chance. I'd stand in the front pew, I'd have a copy of the letter taped to my back, and hand out a copy of the letter to anyone who talked to me.

And depending on the reaction, I might even stay for refreshments and mingle.
