That was mainly an internet thing. I never knew about her YouTube account where she posted videos of herself signing and pretending to be deaf. I didn’t see the video she sent Nikki until after I discovered she was lying. And it was never really spoken of until the last few months of our friendship, when she started talking about it more on the blog and started to wear a really obvious “hearing aid” that I had never seen before. She insisted she had worn it when we were in high school together and that I had just “never noticed it because her hair always covered it.” I had known for a long time that she was really interested in Deaf culture and sign language, and she mentioned at some point that she had some hearing loss as a child. But when she was around me, she never claimed to be deaf and never showed any signs of impairment. As with all of her lies, she claimed different degrees of disability depending on who she was talking to and how much she thought she could get away with.
However, deafness was one of the first things she faked–when she was 13/14, she pretended to be deaf and frequently posted on a fan discussion board for her favorite band, talking about being deaf and “feeling the music” and lots of other bullshit. She apparently showed up at concerts they had and would sign along with the music and pretend to be deaf around certain people. I was unaware of that until after the other lies came out.
These are really old posts, but I was removing them from my personal blog and decided to preserve the posts here.
(Although, apparently Cara is concerned about herself hurting the child, given that she continues to contact me and other people under fake names asking us to “help save the child from Cara.” She barely waited a day after giving birth before she started harassing me and others via e-mails and “anonymous” messages. So it seems she doesn’t think she is fit to be a mother, either. lol. Because those TOTALLY can’t be photoshopped. And Cara totally hasn’t photoshopped ultrasounds in the past when she lied to people about being pregnant, about having an abortion, about having a miscarriage, about being a “single teen mom,” etc.
This lie isn’t even new. Has she “miscarried” yet? I feel certain that if she hasn’t spun that part of the lie yet, it will be coming soon. And I am sure she will make it sound heartbreaking and devastating. Boohoo. Fake pregnancies, fake complications, and fake miscarriages seem to be a favorite for Cara Goodman.
