There's also the fact that even the media is reporting that people nearly as high as right under Comey in the FBI were very displeased with the way he handled the case, and wanted to resign and go public. If that's true, then the gig is probably up. He can't let her go again.

Hoping you're right but it'd be a good tactic for Hill and Obama to both say "let the FBI release what they have" and then the FBI says sheepishly "we actually have nothing". Trump would look bad for endorsing FBI and then rescinding endorsement 3 days later, all centipedes would look bad for posting all this stuff, etc. I'm just thinking of the worst, I suppose - but hopefully it's not going to happen

I honestly don't think Obama would normally get behind something like that. Regardless of what Comey says now I think a lot of damage has been done to the Clinton campaign, and without enough time to recover and put up a good front. Too many high level Democrats getting implicated in scandals at the same time. This could really set back the Democrat party for the next election as well if they lose, barring a serious fuck up by Trump.
So even if they come out and say "see it was nothing" I don't get what would make them think the whole thing would accomplish anything positive other than reminding voters of her last scandal. So I'm leaning towards this being Obama seriously dropping her. Probably at least clear fraud. Maybe worse.

    There is a side of me that thinks this is all planned, but the biggest thing that makes me think Obama is abandoning Hillary on his own is the canceled rallies and the fact Harry Reid is saying "Comey is a Ruskie".
    It doesn't add up that this is a planned event. Harry would be backing Comey in his decision and not accusing him of Hatch Act violations if this was a down the line Democrat narrative.
    I think we are going to get the tactical nuke tomorrow, but at this point Obama is washing his hands of Hillary and hoping to save some face.
    If he isn't directly linked, he can avoid any criminal charges that will likely be levied against the Clintons. I personally think he will be linked, but it could be a calculated move to give him at least an out if they don't have direct dirt on him.
