Quick question about Bastian (self.reddevils)

In our latest set of account, Bastian Schweinsteiger was written off for the sum of £6.7 million, and is therefore no longer classed as an asset.

Is he legally allowed to play for us if he is no longer classed as an asset? Is there not some sort of legal and financial constraints regarding this?

Genuine question, so feel free to shoot me down if I'm miles off the mark.

They put that as a lost asset for accounting purposes, because he is likely to be released when he wants to move team rather than be sold. It doesn't mean anything for his status at the club or his eligibility to play
