Joe Riley's chance to shine? (self.reddevils)

Hi

I just wanted to ask some of you that knows more about the academy than me about Joe Riley. It seems like he's getting a lot of praise at the moment for his performances for the U23.

He obviously plays left back, but since he's right footed it might be a fairly easy transition for him to play at the right. Has he played there before or was he moved from left wing?

Do you think he could have a future for us at right back? We might not need another young left back having already Luke Shaw and Cam B-Jackson in that position.

With Antonio Valencia's injury in mind, do you think he could earn a promotion to the senior squad or will we stick with Darmian and Fosu-Mensah/Young as back-ups for the time being?

I don't really rate him that highly. He didn't really shine when he played last season. That being said, he could always change my opinion, and I hope he does!

Don't think he has a chance, don't watch the u23 but from what i've read from people who do, he doesn't look like he'll be anything special, Also Darmian has done nothing wrong

I was thinking as a back-up for Darmian at first. I don't think he'll be able to play every single match at right back for the next 6 weeks.
