It's only October. There is a long way to go this season and a long way to go in Mourinhos stint with us.
Negatives:
In my opinion we are seriously lacking a leader at the back and have done since the Ferdinand/Vidic era. I really hope that Smalling proves me wrong here but how much more time are we going to give him to fulfill his potential?
Be prepared for defensive football. It's the Mourinho way, he builds from the back and has a big "if you don't concede then you cannot lose matches" attitude.
If we would have scored in the last minute vs Burnley we would all be talking about how managing to win games without being at our best is a sign of a title winning team.
In my opinion Zlatan is a plaster covering the wound that is our lack of an experienced goal scoring centre forward. Yes he's on a bad run at the minute but he has so much experience and confidence that I am sure he will bounce back.
Pogba - Mou is right. To go from playing in a Juventus team that were leagues better than the majority of Serie A to a developing United team in a seriously competitive Premier league Is a big step.
Rooney - no idea what is going on there.
Positives:
Mata/Herrera - need I say more?
De gea - knowing we have a stable high quality GK is a massive plus.
We are creating chances, if you keep creating the goals will come eventually. Look at the Leicester game, one goal took the pressure off and we were away.
We have a hell of a lot of experience in Mou, Zlatan, Pogba, Rooney, Carrick, Valencia and Mata. Its a big dressing room.
My point is, don't judge this team yet.
Confidence is key. We have the quality, we just need a few wins back to back and to have a good Christmas period and we will be up there.
I know it is frustrating, I feel it too. But come on we all know deep down it takes time and stability to build something like we had under SAF. So let's be patient, persevere and be positive!
