So I have been at several parties and clubs with my friends and every time we go my friends ALWAYS try to hook me up with someone by either pushing me onto someone (hoping I or she will grind) or telling me to approach a girl and say something to her. This never works for me because in a club I cannot go up to a female and grind with her, for me it doesn't add up, I am just not wired to do that (cultural instincts, confidence issues, fear of rejection). Talking to females outside is fine with me, though I'd admit my game is not that great.

This goes partly to the culture I was brought up in where we are suppose to essentially put p***y on a pedestal. What am I scared of? Rejection, the girl will think I am a creep or it feels really awkward. How do I overcome this? I cannot go beyond this. I've been on tinder/bumble dates and I seem to hold myself well, because I can talk and work my way through a conversation and close it. There have also been situations where females have stood in front of me in a club and started dancing and I have not been able to gauge (at that moment) that they were there for me lol I have fucked up a couple of times.

I did not party a lot during school and only started going out every other weekend for the last year since I can afford it now lol. Part of the reason could be I do not drink? My friends seem to be on steriods when on alcohol and go approach women blindlessly, is it my time to start drinking as well lol? I am a 25 male, engineer, 6ft, I am decent looking, I work out (not ripped, getting there) and dress classy (my friends can attest to that lol). I feel I have the right ingredients but it's just the fact that I have elevated the opposite sex so much that it just blocks me.

Any advice on how I can work on this internal barrier of mine?

This is my first ever post on reddit, so pardon me if I've made any mistakes or this post is too long. I am posting this after last night halloween party at a club when all my friends tried to hook me up and I didn't even try or just got awkward while talking to a blonde lol.
