we should be producing an atmosphere like that of Liverpool, Barcelona or Dortmund

What even is that comparison.. Barca and Liverpool provide nowhere near the level of atmopshere compared to Dortmund

Liverpool sing their shitty song and then its quiet for the rest of the match until they sing it again. That being said, so is Old trafford. Safe standing sections would help, apart from that, not sure.

Liverpool only sing when the start winning. For large periods they are mostly quiet. It would be better if we got safe standing area then all the hardcore fans will be together singing their heads off. Kinda like Celtic recently

I personally think we always had a great support and that we are amongst the loudest atleast in England.

But yeah, yesterday our supporters were honestly a bit impatient at times. We booed our players for every backpass and for taking time to pass.

Rubbish, there's much better atmosphere at OT than at Camp Nou especially at the smaller games, I watched Barcelona play Las Palmas last season and it was a joke, their singing section was maybe 2 sections worth of seats.

Edit found pictures online from the same game: Singing section is behind the goal and the away section which outsung the barca supporters

It's a game against Burnley, loads of day trippers and prawn sandwich-ers would be present at games like that because tickets are easy to get. United also allow people from abroad to order season tickets, which in itself isn't a bad thing but what happens is certain supporters clubs order a bunch of STs to sell each game. The people behind me are always Scandinavian and are always different and obviously don't know any songs apart from Glory Glory Man United (cringe)

Look at the game against City, locals were able to buy at cheap prices and the atmosphere was absolutely brilliant.

Tourists, prawn sandwich eaters, the fact that the Glazer's want OT to be a destination and an experience over anything else, the fact that the game is moving away from a sport for the working class.

There's many reasons that the atmosphere is flat and something like safe standing will help to an extent. There's lots more that the owners could do but they don't care as long as we finish in the top 4 and the Wall St is happy.

Have you been to games at Liverpool or Barca? The atmosphere is no better, in fact, worse from my experience. It is a common issue for bigger clubs, stadiums, and the premier league on a whole. Dortmund's atmosphere is exceptional, but this applies to pretty much all of German football because it's still fan centred and not as sterile.

And away fans should be loud! They are the hardcore of a fan base. It's not uncommon for our lads to outsing most home fans.

If you want to change the atmosphere you'll need to address the general culture of support today.
