Apologies for how early this is, got to get on a train in a bit.

  • A blunt cutting edge is hurting us. 4 points dropped against Stoke and Burnley from the simple inability to finish is costing our season so far. The game against Chelsea was disappointing but to me it seemed like one of those days where everything bad comes to fruition. These matches though are games we should be brute-strength bullying into our favour, even when the luck is completely against us as it has been all season

  • Pogba was outstanding yesterday, as was Mata and everything about Ibra's game bar his finishing. I also thought Darmian looked good too but he'll get tougher tests!

  • I'm still unsure on the penalty shouts - my gut says the first would have been a soft one and the second wasn't a penalty. Clattenburg can get absolutely fucked though for changing the game by sending off Herrera for slipping over.

  • Speaking of which, I'm not sure I agree with Mourinho's substitutions at that point. I feel Carrick would have been the better choice over Fellaini because we had so much of the ball and he could have pulled the strings more and I feel like taking off Mata was the wrong thing to do.

Overall an incredibly frustrating afternoon and we slip further back in the table (could finish in 9th at the end of this week). The frustrating part is the results don't reflect the performances, it's like the opposite of our start to the season last year.

Hopefully we can start putting the points on the board and make a break for Top 4 though.

Your point that the frustration comes from points not reflecting performances is important. We've had quite a few games where we've played well and not come away with the 3 points. It's deflating and the question is how many times can it happen before it stops being "bad luck".

Next 3 PL fixtures are Swansea (Away) , Arsenal (Home) and West Ham (Home)

Let's go into all 3 games looking for the win because it's doable.

Carrick or Young should've come on in place of Rooney.

Fellaini would atleast have offered a chance to get the long balls, and wouldn't be playing on the wings if we had Young instead.

90% of games like that we win comfortably, hopefully with yesterday and the Stoke game that's us got our 10% out of the road

Despite being incredibly frustrated, It's great to see us playing good attacking football. Mata coming off was a huge mistake. Pogba played brilliant and carried the team in the last minutes to try and create chances. With LVG, I was used to us passing the ball around the back in these situations and just playing for the draw. It's great to see the change that's coming in with the quality of players.

It was my first match at Old Trafford in 20 years since i was a boy and i thoroughly enjoyed the game apart from the result, was one of the most exciting 0-0

Anyone else feel like top 4 is slipping away?

[–]InspironQ 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Not really. The league has been this way this season. We were among the favorites for the title along with City and Chelsea after the first few matches. Chelsea lost two matches in a row and people said they won't make top 4. Now they are among favorites again.

If this season has taught me anything, it's not to be reactionary. These swings will happen throughout the season. No team is running away as the whole league is the strongest it has been for some time now.

Absolutely. City, Liverpool and Arsenal have started very strongly whilst Chelsea and Spurs are still picking up steam but still streets ahead of us.

There's like 30 games left you bloody melts get a grip! Top 4 slipping away? Okay, league title slipping away I could almost agree, not agree but I could at least see where your coming from. Top 4? Fucking hell lads we're only a quarter through the season.

Mourinho was right when he said Mata was in his natural habitat at United. This game showed how important he is in linking up our attacks.

Should we try Martial up front instead of Zlatan, feel like he is strong enough to hold up the ball and pace could help. Memphis could be an option against weaker opponents as well.

Martial hasn't had the same impact as he did last season but I still think his strengths are best utilised on the left wing. At least there his pace could be useful when trying to go past a defender. If he is going to play up front, he's not going to get any space whatsoever and will be surrounded at all times.

Martial has been injured so far. I feel like Rashford would be better as the number 9 and put Martial back on the LW.

I would rather play like shite and win 1-0 that play like that and draw, people under LVG who wanted entertaining 0-0's can fuck right off

[–]tocitusMemphis[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Well I can see the argument for both. If you play that well then the results will come, whereas if you play like shite every week but manage to get the results it'll catch up to you (like it did last season).

This season will be quite tough, look all of those teams up front.

Imagine last day deciding the fate of 5 teams who will be the champion. I have seen 2 fighting over 1 point.

Who Mars have armand go after being subbed?

[–]TheBigLemmy 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

Disappointing result but it happens. At some point this season all the other top sides will dominate a match and fail to score.

We are a joy to watch though. There was some lovely stuff being played yesterday. If we maintain that level and our luck changes we're in for a memorable season.

Pogba was class yet again. I feel lucky to watch him play every week, it's scary how good he is. King Zlatan is going through a tricky patch but he's getting in the right positions, so I'm really not worried.

Completely agree with your point on Fellaini being subbed on. Had we been 1-0 up with 10 men and trying to grind out a result I could understand it but he was never gunna help us get a goal. I'm not a Fellaini hater by any means but I really don't see what Mou thought he would bring to our game when we were chasing a goal. Mata staying on would have been much more useful
