Manchester United to splash world-record £135 million on Luis Suarez?
The transfer window might be shut, but don't think the wheeling and dealing won't continue! Check out all the latest deals here.
United eye second world-record move
As a third of perhaps world football's most prolific attacking trio, Luis Suarez would be welcomed by any club in world football, but the Sun reports that Manchester United will look to make an audacious move for the Uruguayan.
The report says the Red Devils will throw £135 million at Barcelona in a bid to persuade them to cash in on the 29-year-old after three incredible, record-breaking years.
United spent £90m on Paul Pogba last summer as part of a £170m spending spree, but Jose Mourinho's side are currently languishing outside of the top four and eight points off the top.
Since Sir Alex Ferguson's departure, there's been a lack of thought in the club's development, so throwing more money at the problem is not entirely inconceivable.

Leicester look to replace Kante with Keita
N'Golo Kante was absolutely essential to Leicester's title run and the Foxes appear lost without the Chelsea star this season, but the Mirror reports they have highlighted Red Bull Leipzig's Naby Keita as the man to give them what they're missing.
The Guinea international has caught the eye as part of Ralph Hasenhüttl's side that has taken the Bundesliga by storm.
Kante cost Chelsea £32 million and Keita would likely cost somewhere approaching that fee, meaning he would be far from the £4m bargain that arrived from Caen in 2015.
Keita has three and a half years to run on his contract with Die Bullen and with owners Red Bull GmbH's considerable wealth, they hold all the chips in any negotiation at this stage.
Chelsea rival United for Celtic hit man
Chelsea want to beat out Manchester United for Celtic's star striker Moussa Dembele and the Express reports that Real Madrid are circling too.
One of the trio will have to spend £40 million to pry the former Paris Saint-Germain prospect away from Celtic Park after he has grabbed 15 goals already for Brendan Rodgers' side this term.
Zinedine Zidane is thought to be a huge fan and is even willing to loan the 20-year-old back to Parkhead for a season to sweeten the deal.
Galatasaray look to rescue Memphis
Louis Van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho have failed to be enamoured by Memphis Depay and the Mirror reports that Galatasaray are set to swoop for the Dutch international.
Depay's star has faded badly since his arrival at Old Trafford in 2015 for £26 million and the Turkish giants will table a £15m offer to tempt the Red Devils into cutting their losses.
Gala chief Jan Olde Riekerink previously worked with Ajax's academy and is familiar with Depay from his development at PSV, which could be a pivotal factor in persuading the 22-year-old to move and reignite his career.
The Express reports that Milan and Roma are also interested in Depay, who could move as soon as January.
Tap-ins
- Lamine Kone's defending was laughable in Sunderland's 4-1 loss to Arsenal this weekend, though the Mirror believes the powerful centre-back will have four options come January to escape a relegation battle in the Northeast.
Everton, West Ham, Chelsea and possibly Manchester United have emerged as landing spots for the Ivorian, who would cost in excess of £10 million.
- Branislav Ivanovic's time at Chelsea is winding down with his contract set to expire next summer, which could mean a lucrative move to the Chinese Super League, according to the Mirror.
The veteran defender has a host of options, including Jiangsu Suning, Marseille, AC Milan and Crystal Palace.
- Italian giants Roma and Inter Milan are set to battle it out for Real Betis defender German Pezzella, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Argentinian owns 15 percent of his rights, while River Plate also still own a 35 percent stake, which could complicate a deal for the 25-year-old centre-back.
