Trump names Governor Brownback to advisory group

September 23, 2016 by Post Staff 5 Comments

screen-shot-2016-09-23-at-11-58-15-amTOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has named Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback to an advisory council of prominent Catholics.

Brownback was among 34 people named to the council by the Trump campaign Thursday. Trump also named Brownback in August to an agricultural advisory committee.

Trump’s campaign said in a statement that the new group will provide advice and support on issues of importance to Catholics and other Christians, including U.S. Supreme Court appointments and social issues such as abortion.

The statement said the appointment of the council should be seen as an endorsement of “a range of issues and policies.”

Brownback converted to Catholicism in 2002, but even before, as a Methodist, he was a strong abortion opponent. He’s also been a vocal opponent of gay marriage.

Trump has now lost many supporters because of this. Brownback is worthless.

not true John! Trump will win Kansas easily. Hardly anyone outside Kansas even knows who Brownback is or what he has done as our Governor. Most Americans know more about Brad Pitt’s divorce’s than they know about their elected officials…it’s sad I know!

I honestly have no clue what you are talking about with Brad Pitt and could careless, however those who take electing people seriously will know and he will lose many supporters. Those that are more worried about an actor or actress are more than likely meth heads or heroin user’s. I do agree with you 100% that it is sad.

Brownback has a 71% disapproval rating in Kansas. This should say a lot about Trump, blind leading the blind.

Tronald why don’t you appoint sammie as the head of your tax advisory committee? So if you think sammie belongs on a committee called “prominent Catholics” that doesn’t say much for the other losers of that organization.
