I know these comparisions are utter shit and completely useless but I just had to see how we fared last season. It's hard to compare them because this is Jose's first season with 4 new players (okay 3 + some mystic Armenian) and 15/16 was LVG's second season. Then the argument how to compare last year's relegated and this year's promoted sides. I tried to keep it accurate as far as it was possible, I think.

So here it goes:

Only those which we played and games that are comparable (5 games total). So we played a relegated team at home (Newcastle) last season and in place of them I've put a promoted team which we played at home this season (Burnley). The same goes for away fixtures (Hull instead A. Villa). Of course, we didn't play Norwich last season at this point nor we played M'Boro this season. This really is a stretch in terms of comparing but I you can't really compare anything this vs. the last season because all teams have changed a lot. And yeah, some Home/Away fixtures that we played Away/Home this season. I really don't care about this comparisions but fuck it now that I spent my evening doing it (did it for the therapeutic effect).

You can see we have 3 points less from "comparable" fixtures this year also we scored 3 goals less but also received 1 goal less. It's easier to see it on this table:

At this point we had 5 points more, we scored 2 goals more and received 4 goals less.

As I said, says nothing and has no statistical basis. Just wanted to do this to see how we did it last season. I hope this year's October is last year's December and that the black hole is over. We showed some great vertical passing and chance creating today (and against Stoke, Fenerbahce) which we didn't have last year so if we finally find the net, I can see us rising. As Yazz said it, the only way is up
