Time to pack up boys. But anyway randia is shit even if not quoraesque
[–]6a6179 8 points9 points10 points  (10 children)
Is that a bad thing? Why?
[–]_2_4_8Earth 23 points24 points25 points  (4 children)
Let me tell you why, back in my days at the IT hub Bangalore. I would itch to browse something that would fill my niche void, Facebook had become vagrant and dull. But then I found Quora, through quora I could answer questions I had no clue about. One day I would be an aeronautical engineering talking about migs, the other, a politician describing commies, and sometimes I am just a traveler picking on innocent cities. Quora changed the way we thought, we drank, and lived. I became a chutiya, but I am a still prod quora user.
If you liked this explanation, please vote for visibility.
By Quora user 2_4_8, Doctor, Engineer, Traveler, IT dude, basically real life Johnny Sins. Iit'ian by day, Aristotle by night, horny by morning. Sapiosexual --
Edit: Thanks yaar for the upvotes, as with popular appeal I have added sapiosexual also. I have classes now, when I come back I'll answer some questions I saw about Delhi's pollution. Gotta go now, job at CERN keeps me busy.

You missed " iit'ian by day Aristotle by night" in your discription

Needs more sapiosexuality
[–]user_online 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
No Quora bio is complete without the word 'Sapiosexual'.
Sorry, u r not Quorapted enough..

Quora used to be very good in its initial years. However, it got way too popular in the last two years and now every tom Dick and harry makes an account and writes an answer to a question like she has a PhD. It doesn't help that most answers are copy pasted from wiki or stupid news articles. That too in broken English.
That was not quora. Quora was when you had quality people answering questions genuinely. You had Jimmy whales, Robert frost, IAS officers answering questions.
The most annoying thing is that it has a huge IIT circle jerk. The sheer amount of questions on iit is insane. I deleted my account since it was very difficult to filter out such academic questions from my feed. It became a place to evaluate your gre MS profile. Indians really shit on it.

Thanks for writing that up.

Randia hates Quora for some reason. I have never used the site myself, so I do not understand why.
[–]willyslittlewonkaNorth America 10 points11 points12 points  (0 children)
It used to be good but until it gained popularity, for some reason or another, with the general Indian public. Add to that overeager American college freshmen students, the quality deteriorated immensely. Everyone there acts like some smug genius and it also has a bit of an elitist, pseudo-intellectual vibe hence why the whole "I'm attracted to sapiosexual" meme took off from there.

I hate it because it is too formal for my tastes, and everyone is an IITan.

I never used quora, but I don't understand this comparison.
r/India has become facebook
r/India has become Whatsapp forward
r/India has become quora
It's same people, this is not an exclusive much sought after club.

How dare you! We radians are better than others.
[–]Earthborn92Earth 5 points6 points7 points  (1 child)
I think this is the fundamental belief that all randians share regardless of whether left or right or anything else.
We are randians. Being on Reddit makes us special compared to those other popular-in-India sites. Only we have our own door handles 1.6 lpm memes.
[–]balajiiyer 3 points4 points5 points  (0 children)
I was so happy with my 1.6l pm salary from my doorlock company which I lavishly spend on mango vendors to shame smug rich aunties.
Look at me naw! Iam a sapiosexual and I quit my job to travel to leh to find myself.
Gib ma lyf back.
[–]kashre001Jammu and Kashmir 4 points5 points6 points  (0 children)
Degrees Masterrace!
[–]balajiiyer 1 point2 points3 points  (0 children)
I have already expected this when some leh travel pics was upvoted on randia.I smelled some quora breach then,
Waiting for panipuri pictires upvoted to the top now.
Iam a sapiosexual naw!!!

Off topic: set amoled mode for much blacker theme
[–]nuc23Universe 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
At least its better than your click bet journalism. Every time I open randia, 90 % are all random news articles.
[–]fahadgin 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
If the mock-funeral is over along with the exaggeration of the effects of Quora on this subreddit, may I ask a simple question? What kind of questions do you all expect people to ask on the AskIndia flair?
That way, AskReddit and ELI5 are mini-Quoras.
Also, while we are at it, I hardly saw most of these questions on the front page of this subreddit. So why the drama?
[–]Preacher_1893 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
so if they outnumber us we will be offered with shit every morning?
