I was browsing /r/all when I saw this post with nearly 4.5k upvotes on t_d. Naturally I was skeptic. It seems like every day some minority demographic "converts to voting for trump". So I decided to do a little digging on the original poster of the tweet.

First clue is in her profile. Joined october 2016, only 90 tweets and 11 pictures/videos, all either pro-Trump or anti-Hillary. Yeah, this girl didn't "Ditch Hillary" at all, she clearly never supported her to begin with. This account was clearly made with the intention of using it to support Donald Trump.

But that raises the obvious question. Is the "CaliGirl", in the photo even the person who runs the twitter account? After a few clicks with reverse image search, it looks like the answer is a definite NO.

This isnt a "22. CaliGirl". It is a Russian Model who goes by алена ушкова, or Alena Ushkova, in English. With all the shenanigins in this election, I have to say that strikes me a as a little odd. Is it a coincidence that this fake pro-Trump Twitter account used an image of a relatively obscure Russian model, out of all the pictures out there? Maybe it is. I would be wrong to say that this confirms anything. But also, maybe this picture was chosen because the Russian who made the account likes the model.

I guess there is really no way to tell.
