Dennis DiMarcoDennis DiMarco, Jefferson Parish Registrar of Voters and a member of Jefferson Parish President-elect Mike Yenni's transition team.

Secretary of State Tom Schedler told DiMarco via letter the U.S. Justice Department received a complaint about it. Schedler's staff also confiscated the signature pages of those who used it. He wrote that an "alarm system" would monitor these items "to preserve the integrity of early voting and to promote confidence within the general public regarding the voting process," according to the news station.

DiMarco told the news station the machine was set up in his conference room for people who needed to avoid long lines, including law enforcement and "some VIPs." He stressed that no fraudulent voting took place, and that it was "merely a convenience" for those they "feel and the law allows" the privilege to go to the head of the line. Robert Evans III, the attorney leading a petition to recall Parish President Mike Yenni, told the news station he notified the federal government. He also admitted to using the device himself Tuesday.
