I think the Workshop issue must be files remaining in Data directory. By design, Mod Organizer doesn't touch the Data directory so it's probably showing "Non-MO". If you find any, you should delete extra files from your Data folder.

There should be 3 folders in Data - Interface, Strings, Video. If there are other folders, get rid of them.

Other than that, there should be 24 files of the .bsa .esm and .esp variety.

  • Dawnguard.bsa
  • Dawnguard.esm
  • Dragonborn.bsa
  • Dragonborn.esm
  • HearthFires.bsa
  • HearthFires.esm
  • HighResTexturePack01.bsa
  • HighResTexturePack01.esp
  • HighResTexturePack02.bsa
  • HighResTexturePack02.esp
  • HighResTexturePack03.bsa
  • HighResTexturePack03.esp
  • Skyrim - Animations.bsa
  • Skyrim - Interface.bsa
  • Skyrim - Meshes.bsa
  • Skyrim - Misc.bsa
  • Skyrim - Shaders.bsa
  • Skyrim - Sounds.bsa
  • Skyrim - Textures.bsa
  • Skyrim - Voices.bsa
  • Skyrim - VoicesExtra.bsa
  • Skyrim.esm
  • Update.bsa
  • Update.esm

And just in case, after you're thru with deleting things, from Steam do a file integrity verification check from Right click on game-->Properties-->Local Files. If you deleted any crucial files by accident, this will fix it.

Beautiful, they were non-MO - just remembered that part, bit tipsy at the mo - so I'll investigate this further when I'm home from the pub. Cheers for the info!

Yep that sorted it, cheers mate!

Hey, welcome! This is an awesome post, and deserves way more attention than I'm about to give it before I get ready for class, so well done on that. Quick and dirty:

  • Left side is the contents of every folder in '<path>\Mod Organizer\mods', it's referred to as "mod priority" or "install order"; Load Order is the list on the right, and details all the mod plugins/masters loaded at runtime
  • Number of mods won't be as important as which types; your GPU's GDDR access is limited to 2k, so using 2k textures is probably wise, and the more script/visual mods you use, the more the system will be taxed. OTOH if you install a couple hundred texture replacers (at reasonable sizes), you probably won't see as much of a performance issue (no claims made about compatibility). Make sense?
  • STEP is a pretty serious overhaul (though certainly not the biggest) and has Packs that do exactly what you're talking about.

You'll get more and better responses from the great community here, but in the meantime, happy modding!

Ah, that clears that up, TYVM!

It does, thank you. How did you know it's limited to 2k by the way? I haven't taxed me mind over specs and Tech since AGP cards were still used for graphics cards :)

Mate, spot on; JUST what I'm lookin for, cheers!

The article you linked gives the model of your adapter, from which the memory can be obtained! :D I can't believe my little response was enough for ya, glad to help!

Cheers mate! Now I use gotta wrangle this bloody Vivid Weather mod. Is it normal to raise conflicts with USLEEP? Got about 60 of em.

[–]angrmgmt00 1ポイント2ポイント  (1子コメント)

A mod conflicting with USLEEP is similar to a mod "conflicting" with update.esm or something. In my list, I have nearly 3500 USLEEP files with such "conflicts", and I'm A-OK with that because USLEEP is part of what I consider the "core game" and for me to have a modified experience, I've got to change the core. That's the whole point of modding! Obviously there are mods that revert USLEEP changes to ITM (because they didn't bother to check it), but VW is not such a mod. Hope that helps.

When you put it that way, clear as rain mate. Thanks again!

The others made a good point in answering your first question so i'll try add to the last one. Brodual recently made a vid on a basic but very nice looking (improved vanilla) graphics setup, Hodilton has really cool ENB show offs and dirtyweasel has a very long in depth 2016 modding guide Also Zaric Zhakaron usually goes through his list before starting a let's play.

Noice noice, Youtubers I presume mate?

[–]DabbelJ 0ポイント1ポイント  (6子コメント)

Ah of course, sorry i wrote on the train from work while being a little distracted ;) yes they are and they are good - try also a guy named gopher, he hasn't done anything skyrim related in a while but his old mod spotlights are great and that silky smooth voice is a blast.

Rabidly consumed all I could watch mate, cheers for the recommendations!

On the subject of ENB's though; following the setup guide in here and a follow up viewing of Slothability's vid, I still can't seem to get depth of field working. The actual ENB I loaded up (optional one from Vivid Weathers) works fine, and checking in the MCM all the options are green with the exception of the depth of field, which reads as true, but is white. Is there a place you can recommend further where I can troubleshoot it?

[–]DabbelJ 0ポイント1ポイント  (4子コメント)

ENBs do not have MCM menus - the enb dof is enabled via the enbseries.ini (set depth of field to true) or via enb ingame menu (this differs from enb to enb, some enbs have the shortcut for their enb menu on shift+enter or shift+z).

[–]Greedeater[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (3子コメント)

Sorry mate, I'll clarify; the Vivid Weathers MCM shows green about the ini adjustments, and I have quadruple checked I've adjusted the appropriate lines yet still no DoF.

I'll have another look shortly.

[–]DabbelJ 0ポイント1ポイント  (2子コメント)

This is the ingame dof, which is barely noticable. Enb adds its own dof as it adds more complicated post processing effects than skyrim's engine should be able to do. If you have enb and want dof you should enable the enb one as it looks better. If you want to make skyrim's ingame dof more noticable you need to install a mod called dynavision to tweak it. Ingame dof is of course less performance intensive than enb dof.

[–]Greedeater[S] 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

Ahhhh Righto, that mebbe where I'm stuffing up. Cheers for the pointers mate!

[–]DabbelJ 0ポイント1ポイント  (0子コメント)

If you see an enb where you like the dof, but not the rest you can also take its enbeffectprepass.fx file out of the enbseries folder and replace yours with it.
