Hi everyone, I've been reading these reddits for a while now and while I agree with the majority of all the points hardcore MGTOWers prescribe to, I also wonder if there is a way to have your cake and eat it too?
One of the key issues in today's society is not getting fisted by divorce settlements/alimony etc. How does one prevent this? (other than the obvious way of not getting married or co-habiting or anything that might be deemed as common law).
I am a Canadian citizen working in Hong Kong at the moment. Both countries are are pretty similar as they derive their laws from UK. I have not studied law but the basic idea is that they take 50% and potential alimony and further payments to come. In HK, prenups can be taken into "consideration" but they are not legally binding to the word.
I have received advice that if you marry in US and you sign a pre-nup it is very clear cut and prenup trumps all so you can protect all your assets.
Really interested to hear your thoughts and expertise on this area.
Thanks!
