So according to this map, depending on the results of the polls, it may be possible that 6 recreational weed states will become connected by land, forming a "dank road", if you pardon me.

Thing is, the boarder between Arizona and Colorado has no length, it is just a point in the four corners. So there is a 1 mile long unnamed road that is the shortest road between those states, passing through New Mexico. My question is, if I were traveling that road with some dank in my car, but there was a cop car setting up a trap there, hoping to catch stoners, and they decided that in their opinion, there was reason to pull me over, turned on their lights, but by the time they approach me, I'm in CO, can they continue the pursuit there? And if they do, can they arrest me for the pot under NM laws? The same applies for the reverse route.

Alternatively, if a passenger left the vehicle with the marijuana while the driver crosses the states, then the passenger goes to the AZ corner of the four corners monument and steps into CO, for a moment his body will hover above Utah and New Mexico. Can a police officer from one of those two states stop and frisk them? And charge them with possession?

Probably. A number of state and local PDs have agreements about pursuing into other territory when a crime was committed or suspected. It's not like TV in the 70s where you cross a border and the cops stomp on their breaks and throw their cowboy hats on the ground, cursing.

Of course, you're ignoring a larger problem. MJ is illegal federally, and bringing it across state lines means you're trafficking, which carriers multiple years in federal prison. Even if both states legalized it

From what I understand, they still would have to prove intent to distribute to charge me with trafficking? Anyway, I don't think federal agents are very likely to focus on that. And lots of people already cross the WA/OR border with their weed.

No, they'd need to prove that to convict not to charge. And depending on how much you have, that isn't particularly difficult if you have more than a small amount.

I also don't know why you'd want to bring weed across state lines for personal use between states where it's legal. Why not just buy it locally when you get there?

Do you mean "why not buy it locally right now," or do you mean in general?

I'm not a pothead, but there's absolutely a market for regional varieties of marijuana, just like there's a market for other states' craft beer, for Californian (or French, or Chilean) wine, or for imported produce. It's illegal to serve that market, but black-market wholesalers have been making a bundle on it for decades, and I fully expect that, the moment it's legal to move pot across state lines, those businesses will either go above board, or be replaced by new above-board wholesalers specializing in… I dunno. "Colorado Chronic?"

I meant right now. The risk/reward for trying to deal with interstate travel just doesn't make sense when you can buy it on arrival at your destination. But yeah, I get why you'd want to in a general sense. Artisanal, Small Batch, Organic Weed

I don't know about crossing state lines but usually crossing county lines or city/township jurisdictions is fine when the officer observes the infraction where they have jurisdiction.

I would advise you not to be the test case here.
